Its shocking to think about, but we're little more than 2 months away from the start of the 2010 ACL. Groups were released the other day and look like this: Group E Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma (KOR), Melbourne Victory (AUS), Beijing Guoan (CHN), Kawasaki Frontale (JPN) Group F Kashima Antlers (JPN), Jeonbuk Motors (KOR), Persipura Jayapura (IDN), Changchun Yatai (CHN) Group G Henan Jianye (CHN), Gamba Osaka (JPN), Suwon Bluewings (KOR), Play-off East winners Group H Adelaide United (AUS), Shandong Luneng (CHN), Cup winners (JPN), Pohang Steelers (KOR) I have no idea about any other Asian league, so have no idea what this will mean for each team, though with most the groups containing a Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Australian team, it looks like things will be a lot harder than last year (and travel will be minimized except for the horrible Aussie trip). Will be interesting to see the schedule, but I sure as hell hope Guoan opens away in Australia to get that trip over with before CSL season starts. Whoever in each group gets that (if anybody), really hits the jackpot.
Guoan has the toughest group with no soft teams in there. They play the champion from Japan and Australia and the runner up from Korea...
I was reading in the Asia forum and they were saying group E was the hardest as well. Also Shandong is in a tough group and would struggle to advance
To be honest I don't see any of our teams going through, lol... Probably Shandong has a better chance depending on the last team. I'm not sure how this thing is seeded (if at all) but Group E is insane.
The last team in Group E won't be quality no matter who advances. Shandong should beat whatever team that is unless they choke.
What's the team with the MILF coach? sorry about that. hahaha Good luck guys. I think shandong has a godd chance of making it to the second round.
Hey you Aplisoc, This is manager of Henan Jianye "Construction". She is NOT MILF IMHO ! I think it is hard for Asian women to qualify for Milf compared to white women. Does anybody know the Henan team style of play ?
Hi there mehdan, I'll just like to correct you and state that the women in the picture is Yang Nan and is the general manager of Henan. She is not the first team coach of the team and won't lead them out to their games, that position is filled by Tang Yaodong. While I'm not a fan of Henan I've watched a couple of their games and from what I've gathered they do have some decent players in Jiang Kun and Xu Yang who are decent crossers of the ball while their foreign attack of Olisadebe and Netto seem to feed off them pretty well. The attackers also seem to have a bit of skill and finishing between them. Other players to note are Zhao Peng who is a good hustler of the ball and the rising goalkeeper Zeng Cheng.
Ummm so no woman coach then? That would be something to see especially in a semi-traditional society like China, imagine if she leads the team into a game in somewhere like Iran or Saudi Arabia!

Should be a big crowd on Tuesday at Gongti, tickets are already sold out (though I find this claim highly dubious as Guoan's ticketing this year is completely FUBAR).
maybe, depends on yellow bull prices, I really want to take my own (meaningless) stand and boycott the team, partly due to all the CSL corruption and partly due to how Guoan screws over their fans every chance they get (another story not really appropriate in this thread).
OMG, that Kashima-Changchun game was the worst football game I've ever EVERRRR been too. 1 shot that was threatening, and it was Kashima's goal, who basically took the 2nd half off. Changchun were so bloody negative though that Kashima might as well have taken a player off and played with 10 men just to make things interesting. Horrendous. Luckily I was paid to watch that match, if I had to pay I'd feel sorry for people...
Hi everybody I got some news about our China teams: In the other Group H match Wednesday, China's Shandong Luneng picked up a valuable 1-0 win at Japan's Sanfrecce Hiroshima, the winner coming from China striker Han Peng's 76th minute header. In Group G, South Korea's Suwon Samsung Bluewings were held to a 0-0 home draw by Japan's Gamba Osaka. Gamba's draw and Sanfrecce Hiroshima's loss contributed to a mediocre opening matchday for Japanese clubs, who were among the favourites to win the competition this season. Kawasaki Frontale also lost their opening group game, 2-0 away at South Korea's Seongnam Ilhwa, on Tuesday, but Kashima Antlers did win their opener against China's Changchun Ytai, thanks to a first-half header from Koji Nakata. 1. Shandong win 2. Henan drew v Singaporean team 3. Changchun lost

I reported for the match like I said It was worse than Hertha football. Hell, I'll go on and say it was worse than a Hertha U17 match.
Henan scared me drawing against a singapore team at home. Shandong stoled a game away. way the go. As for Guoan, expected to win at home so I am not too impressed Changchun, way the go to hold the antlers to just one goal on their own turf.
