Re: 2010-2011 Chinese Abroad [R] Interesting, cuz the Hao we saw against Honduras was absolutely gleaming with confidence and he played prolly the best ive ever seen him play that game. I really thought that would be a turning point for him, psychologically that is, after making such a great performance with the NT.....
Re: 2010-2011 Chinese Abroad [R] Well thats cuz he was playing in a familiar environment, and with people he probably thought are on par of worse than him. When he's playing with Schalke, I'm sure he doesn't think that. And that's where the lack of confidence is coming from and prob why lot of Chinese players don't do well overseas. Well now that Schalke is almost out of UCL, maybe Hao will get some time in the next game against Man Utd?
Re: 2010-2011 Chinese Abroad [R] Does not seem likely; we'd sooner see Ali Karimi getting some playing time than see Hao on the bench for the next CL leg. I think Schalke is still going to go for it (or try to) and maybe attempt to salvage something from the match because their domestic league campaign has been a major disappointment. Hao needs a team that will actually play him in his natural position, and not as a friggin RB.
Re: 2010-2011 Chinese Abroad [R] schalke signing 101: 1. buy exotic foreign player with promising upside 2. play said player out of position 3. complain the player lacks confidence after not playing him for nearly a full season judging from a single performance 4. ??? wtf?
Re: 2010-2011 Chinese Abroad [R] i would like to add on: when schalke was winning the second leg against inter milan with 7-2 aggregate, schalke only used two out of three substitution benches and didn't even bother to let hao to play for few minutes. now you schalke fcukers say he has no confidence? lol. btw, ali karimi's contract will expire this summer. hao junmin still got a couple years to go. imo, i think schalke should offer hao more minutes to nourish his talent than to karimi who was signed as a placeholder. now to keep on our Bigsoccer China tradition (please refer to the post below)....

Re: 2010-2011 Chinese Abroad [R] honestly have no idea what they see in hao defensively. like what in their right mind makes them believe he can perform defensively when he's never played there at a professional level, especially when switching to a much more physical league? i mean his first few games last year at left wing were pretty decent, nothing to write home about, but average at least. of course he wasn't dislodging farfan on his natural right side the way the latter was playing, but to switch roles altogether... that just makes absolutely no sense to me.
Re: 2010-2011 Chinese Abroad [R] Yea i also thought that might´ve been one huge factor to his confidence. Playing for Schalke as RB after not playing all season is understandably not a confidence booster, and the random switch to RB in the first place which we will prolly never find out why... Actually they did make all their subs, Draxler for Baumjohann, Charisteas for Edu and Schmitz for Jurado
