2010/11 HSBC Sevens World Series

    Is it still possible for us to get any points from this tournament? In order for us to remain a core member of the Sevens World Series we really need to get some points and remain in the top 12.


    If you look at the top 15 in the standings I think we are the only ones that don't have a professionally contracted Sevens team. I just don't think we are going to improve until we can contract 12 to 15 of our players. These players could still play 15s and Sevens for Super League, Division 1 and college teams but they should be paid some sort of a salary to allow them to make this a full time job.


    A national Sevens Series would be great but would be hard to make fully professional. Even here in England I don't think the JP Morgan National Series and Premeirship Sevens Tournament are fully professional. Sure they have full time professionals who play 15s for pro clubs or are contracted to a National team but you can't make a living solely on the Sevens Series.
