I think somebody will win. And whoever manages to, it will be said that they met the other team at the perfect time to rebound from their downward spiral.
Japan and Cameroon are both in shambles at the moment.

    You forgot one.
    22/08/07 Japan 2-0 Cameroon

Purely statistically, winner will 86% go through, while loser will 94% go out. Unless Denmark get a draw with Netherlands.

Yea I live in the US so I still have classes.

Its my senior year of high school though so it doesn't really matter anymore. I end school in a week.

Who do you guys think will start at fullback?

Since Konno is injured I'm hoping that Okada goes back to Uchida on the right and Nagatomo on the left. I would be ok with Konno taking Uchida's spot, but I really hope Okada doesn't play "inverted fullbacks again".

Re: (06.14.10) FIFA World Cup: Japan vs. Cameroon [R]

    random sh!t like this happens.

    Cameroon 0-0 Georgia (Rank 120th)
Portugal 0-0 Cape Verde Islands (Rank 114th)
    France 0-1 China (Rank 84th)
    Honduras 0-0 Azerbaijan (Rank 109th)
    Japan 0-0 Zimbabwe (Rank 110th)

Japan's probable XI only played for 30 minutes and it really isn't unconceivable for a team even like Zimbabwe to hold Japan goalless for 30 minutes. Mozambique held Portugal goalless for 55 minutes the other night.

I think the game served a good purpose for the team and apparently the Zimbabwe 'keeper had a blinder. Zimbabwe had more attempts on goal against Brazil the other day apparently.

Yeah but the others countries may not have lost the 4 other games and scoring only one goal.

It's just a friendly. Official games are a completely different matter. The players will be very motivated, Cameroonians have a lot of pressure on their shoulders as well, I expect them to be nervous and prone to mistakes, Japanese will have plenty of occasions in that game and they must seize them.

Okada is a mediocre coach but the starting eleven is more than sufficient to comfortably qualify (without disrespecting our opponents) to the next round.

Scoring an early goal would be the ideal scenario, best way to evacuate the pressure and gain confidence. Cameroon has a great goalkeeper, but the defense is shaky and beatable, as for their attacking players, I fear Emana more than anyone else, he definitely worths a player like Honda (the least we could say) but he is more powerful and athletic. Eto'O must not be taken lightly but excessively focusing on him (marking) and neglecting the others would be a huge mistake, he is quite ineffective with the NT (since approximatively 2 years) and it seems to frustrate him. (Hence his excessively aggressive behavior lately).

    Ah, ok. :)

Was it an official game ? (taken into account by FIFA's ranking, national anthems ?...etc). Did they played with training shirts ? (Yano's picture).
