Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] Looking forward to this one. They show it live on tv here in Sweden. What do you guys think?
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] Our confidance has been rejuvenated, and Ivory Coast is not that team that everybody thinks they are, and they're last few matches weren't that great. I say we win this one!
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] On ESPN3 in the US for those who lives in the states. I think this is a key match for Japan, I think it may be the big simulation of what they might try to do against Cameron.
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] Hey, I saw around a very cool picture of a Japanese samurai dressed up as a soccer player with a sword and stuff... If somebody has seen it, can you please upload it here? I mean, we don't have it yet in this thread, right?
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] Sakamoto Ryoma ... He's used a lot right now, last time I saw Tatsuya Kawajiri dressed like him on Kamipro's cover.
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] Wonder how he would feel to be so commercialized...
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] Nah, I think he'd bridge the gap and negotiate an alliance. BTW, where is the big black boat in that picture??
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] Oh that pic is cool, I've never seen it before! .........................
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] espnsoccernet says the game is 1pm est in the us: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/fixtures?cc=5901&league=FIFA.FRIENDLY but espn3 says it'll stream the match at 6am est: http://espn.go.com/espn3/index/_/sport/soccer-futbol does anyone know what time the match truly starts? thanks.
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] they will play 7:20pm JST, so 12:20 CET at lunch time in Sion ... around 6am in the morning for US people ... live on TBS
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] A predicted lineup maybe?? I want Mori to start this one.
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] http://soccer.yahoo.co.jp/jleague/news/article.html?a=20100603-00000020-spn-socc In the last training sessions the 'regular' side was the eleven which started against England. It is said that these are likely to start against Ivory Coast. Formation is likely to be 4-2-3-1 with Hasebe moving back to defensive midfield alongside Abe. This could be shifted to a 4-1-4-1.
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] well after the actual game is done, they're going to have a small 45 minute game for all the reserves or people who didn't start the first game. So everyone will get a run-out.
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] What worries me for the team is whether or not they can adapt to South African weather later on. If they lose games, they better not whine about the weather, it wasn't helpful last time.
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] No what is worrying is that after this high attitude training they arrive at their camp, which is on ground level in SA on the 6th, leaving 8 days until their 1st game. Wouldn't the acclimating to high attitude wear off by then.
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] They'll probably use the oxygen masks they used before they went to Switzerland at night or something. From watching Aus v Denmark, one of the most difficult things to get used to at altitude games with the "Jabulani" is how the ball behaves in the air. Training at sea-level for a week before the game they won't forget that as much. During the competition, living at altitude would probably just cause more fatigue. One of Japan's morning sessions before the england game was called off due to signs of high fatigue in the daily urine tests and Okazaki was reported to have been struggling a bit in the first 2 or 3 days. Weather won't be as bad in South Africa as in Germany for football, the climate at Free State Stadium means the game will probably be played at 13-16°C.
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] Really? That's perfect temperature to play football. Have You got any informations about humidity during SA winter?
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] Also read that 3 players were not able to adapt to the altitude, on the ground of their blood scan results. Media is speculating that 1 of the 3 is probably Uchida, due to him being fit but not playing vs England. "Jabulani": One advantage might be that the j.league is using the ball since March. That is the reason why no Japanese GK has complained yet. I haven't followed the league though. Does anybody know about the use of it having led to more successful attempts from out of the area in Japan?
Re: (06.04.10) Friendly: Côte d'Ivoire vs. Japan [R] thanks. and now even espn3 (which originally had the right time of 6am) is confused - they've changed their schedule to say they will be streaming the game at 1pm. (i don't have tbs.)
