FC Basel announced a debt of 9.75 million CHF in 2009. Seydou Doumbia might not play for YB this wed against FCSG. Mario Frick, Germano Vailati, and now Zé Vitor will all be out for FCSG.
Very interesting article today in Le Matin from Lausanne. They calculated the amount of money each point cost each team in the ASL based on budget and points earned. FCSG 46 points 7.5 million CHF .16 FCL 51 points 10 million CHF .20 GCZ 59 points 15 million CHF .25 ACB 21 points 5.5 million CHF .26 YB 74 points 20 million CHF .27 FCS 45 points 15 million CHF .31 FCA 20 points 7 million CHF .35 NEX 37 points 15 million CHF .40 FCB 71 points 30 million CHF .42 FCZ 41 points 23 million CHF .56

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else but could anyone tell me how long Scott Sutter will be out with his injury? I know it was an Abductor injury but couldn't find out how long it was for. I tried the Young Boys website but it doesn't like going through a translator. Thanks in advance to anyone that helps.
May 13 20:15 Aarau ? - ? Grasshoppers 20:15 Basel ? - ? Neuchatel Xamax 20:15 Lucerne ? - ? Young Boys Bern 20:15 St. Gallen ? - ? Bellinzona 20:15 Zurich ? - ? Sion The two big matches are Luzern-YB and Basel-Xamax. I expect Basel to win easily and YB should, but it might be more difficult. If YB does not win, that sets up a final day clash between YB and Basel where the two teams would be tied. That would be a huge match. Aarau and Bellinzona are still separated by 2 points, they play each other in Ticino this weekend. Aarau can put the pressure on with a victory and a Bellinzona defeat. If Bellinzona can win and Aarau loose, the weekends match is not important, they would be up by 5 points. FC Luzern has the best chance for the 2nd Europa League spot. They have a 4 point advantage over FC Sion and 6 over FCSG. If they get a combined three points from two matches, or if Sion or FCSG loose a match, they get the spot. Should be a interesting round of matches. Here are the last matches for the season: May 16 16:00 Bellinzona ? - ? Aarau 16:00 Grasshoppers ? - ? Lucerne 16:00 Neuchatel Xamax ? - ? Zurich 16:00 Sion ? - ? St. Gallen 16:15 Young Boys Bern ? - ? Basel The only match without anything on it will be the Xamax - FCZ match.
May 13 FT Aarau 1 - 4 Grasshoppers FT Basel 3 - 0 Neuchatel Xamax FT Lucerne 5 - 1 Young Boys Bern FT St. Gallen 1 - 2 Bellinzona FT Zurich 2 - 0 Sion Lots decided today except for the champion. Aarau is relegated, Luzern goes from almost relegated last season to Europa League next seaon. YB gets exposed on defense and now must win at home against Basel to claim the title. 1. Basel 35 +42 77 2. YB 35 +33 77 3. GC 35 +23 65 4. Luzern 35 +10 55 5. Sion 35 +2 48 6. St. Gallen 35 +1 46 7. Zürich 35 -3 44 8. NE Xamax 35 -2 40 9. Bellinzona 35 -49 25 10. Aarau 35 -57 20
Other than the clash of the titans, today really was about finishing strong. Aarau did win their last ASL match. It will be interesting to see if they can climb back up next season. FCL narrowed the gap between 4th and 3rd. FCB defeated YB again to claim the title. Interesting season but over the last month it looked like YB was trying to hold on, which they simply could not do. May 16 FT Bellinzona 1 - 2 Aarau FT Grasshoppers 0 - 1 Lucerne FT Neuchatel Xamax 3 - 3 Zurich FT Sion 5 - 1 St. Gallen FT Young Boys Bern 0 - 2 Basel
FC Lugano fired their coach and hired ... Marco Schällibaum the former coach of AC Bellinzone at the start of the season. It should be a very interesting Promo/Relegation match up.
Didier Tholot was fired as coach of FC Sion today. When will CC get it. Consistency is the name of the game. Bernard Challandes and Pierre-André Schürmann seem to be the likely canidates.
Bellinzona [2 - 1] Lugano 27' [1 - 0] H. Mihoubi 70' [1 - 1] P. Montandon 78' S. Preisig 90' [2 - 1] F. Feltscher Second leg is today.
I just hope this season shows that we need to improve more. At least, I saw two teams from Ticino doing well this season. Anyway, let's see how things will change...
I wonder how the support for both teams would have been if Lugano had won automatic promotion. I know that the two cities are different, but would there have been enough fans who cared? Congrats to AC Bellinzone, tough luck for FC Lugano. Early predictions for promotion would be Servette, Aarau, Vaduz and Lugano.
Yup. They're rivals, since they are the most prominent clubs in Ticino. If was Chiasso or Locarno (or even smaller clubs), I doubt it would get more attention.
