Re: Any way to get our voice out to the new owners about Match Kits/Logo? I guess the kit style would have to depend on who the kit sponsor will be. By kit style, I'm talking about how some of us would like to see the old school stripes on the sleeves. I don't know whether the club's future kit sponsor will develop a specific kit just for them. We may have to settle for an average looking one.
Re: Our Badge/Logo: Any Ideas? Very nice Ultra. Maybe an F.C. or establishment year at the bottom of the badge. Keep them coming!
Re: Tampa Bay Rowdies - Jersey Mock-Ups out of the ones i've seen so far i like these the best just change outback to burns and we've got us a kit lol nx z
Re: Any way to get our voice out to the new owners about Match Kits/Logo? Hey guys how about this? I do this sort of thing for fun(I'm actually going through the whole USL right now, even rebranding the league, that's the little logo you see on the sleeve/back), so here is my take on the Rowdies!
Re: Any way to get our voice out to the new owners about Match Kits/Logo? DrSoFlaFan that badge is sick.... really cool using the Skyway like that.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Colors/Jersey/Logo thread I like the newer logo with the skyline. The old logo just looks too old. We can keep the colors but the logo, we need a new one.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Colors/Jersey/Logo thread I actually like that logo with the Skyway. That's nice. '75 doesn't work for me, but whatever. And I love long sleeves, but there's little need for it in Tampa. And the OR never had long sleeves. Would have been cool with the hoops, though. Good stuff.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Colors/Jersey/Logo thread That crest with the skyway bridge is very sharp. It's a locally recognizable feature and updates the badge considerably. Could you try to incorporate the traditional Rowdies' font in the badge? It would be a nice counterpoint to the badge's modernity. In any case you should e-mail it the new ownership's marketing department. I don't see how they could top that!
Re: 2008 Rowdies Colors/Jersey/Logo thread You know, actually, I like that font. The old one, while unique, was probably not incredibly easy to render in embroidery and such (not a small problem). This font is modern while also being unique and clean and I think it would be a nice update of the familiar.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Colors/Jersey/Logo thread I don't disagree, I think the modern font is great. I was just curious to see what the old font would like. Like you I'm a little bit of a traditionalist.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Colors/Jersey/Logo thread I like the skyway crest. The font should stay the same. The old rowdies font is just to old. I think keeping the colors for the old rowdies is the best we can do with the old stuff. We need to update like he did with the skyway crest.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Colors/Jersey/Logo thread Thanks for the compliments on my design guys. The Skyway came about because I was up for a Marlins-Rays game this year and it was a "eureka" moment when I was trying to think of a landmark to use. I have gone ahead and e-mailed it in to the new owners, it can't hurt. In fact, this is exactly how I got my internship with Miami FC, sending in a logo/uniform design I got good responses from, and a suggestion to send in(they didn't use it unfortunately). Anyway this is the version I sent in, slightly modified. Now it has USL logos on the kits instead of my new league, and the socks are the classic yellow/green, and blue/yellow on the 3rd set. As for the font, I updated it because the old one is just too outdated to work I think. It's one of the many NASL logos/fonts that really don't work so well, especially nowadays(Caribous of Colorado anyone?). Here is the updated set.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Colors/Jersey/Logo thread You know, the day before the announcement I was watching the Jane Punisher movie. The ending scene shows Frankie standing, all alone, on the Skyline Bridge. Maybe we should incorporate Tampa's most famous recent movie into the kit. JK
Re: 2008 Rowdies Colors/Jersey/Logo thread I love the new badge design with the Skyway in it - it's a great TB landmark. As for the date...I think having both 75 and 2010 in the design is relevant since this is a rebirth of an old franchise. It would not only show respect to the original club but give us old fans something to hold onto as well - not to mention opening the door to new fans and symbolizing the redux by including the 2010. Just not too sure how to do this design-wise... I certainly agree with keeping the original gold and green color scheme but bringing the badge up to date, as much as I hate to let go of the past, is a must in terms of rebirth and paving the road for the future. I vote for drSoFlaFan's design.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Colors/Jersey/Logo thread When you include both dates it'll end up looking like a tombstone.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Colors/Jersey/Logo thread Welcome aboard CelticMagick!. Heh, heh, I'm afraid Ultravolta is right. It would look like an inscription on a tombstone. I almost agreed with you.
Re: 2008 Rowdies Colors/Jersey/Logo thread Thanks for the welcome Yeah, I didn't think of it that way >.< 2010 it is I guess, lol. Like I said before I come from the old days and hate to let go of the past but this is a new club, new owner, new team and as such, new birth date. Keeping the old colors will take care of the reminiscing part for us, yeah?
Re: 2008 Rowdies Colors/Jersey/Logo thread Not too different from any other concepts thrown out here already, but I was bored and put this together in a few minutes..... Sponsor was a stab in the dark... just typed Tampa based companies into google haha
Re: Tampa Bay Rowdies - Jersey Mock-Ups Now that I think of it, I like the Skyway concept. But with the Hooters logo. That crest is excellent. It has the tradition of an area landmark. It's up-to-date, while maintaining a classic look. Get that man in contact with the ownership group! Can I get a larger version of the crest?
Re: 2008 Rowdies Colors/Jersey/Logo thread Computerized programs for scanning and embroidering logos and fonts have advanced in the 15 years since a Rowdies franchise last took the pitch in 1993. Custom embroidery technology has changed exponentially in the 30-plus years since the NASL Rowdies were launched. Beyond that, you can't get much easier than embroidering a one-color font on a one-color background, which was the type of application the Rowdies' original wordmark consisted of. The Rowdies' classic wordmark had a decidedly antique/retro feel to it, meaning that a "modern" font isn't an "update" of it... rather, it is a break from the original wordmark's feel. The three primary components of the original Tampa Bay Rowdies brand package were: 1) The unique, antique font that the team's name was rendered in; 2) The kit's hooped sleeves and socks; 3) The Green, Yellow and White color scheme. While a relaunch of the Rowdies' brand can include a traditional style club badge, said badge would best maintain ties to tradition by incorporating the unique, antique-style Rowdies font.
