Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread Romario appears to have put an end to the rumor himself. He denied his transfer to MiamiFC on Brazilian radio tuesday night. He claims that while he likes the beaches, the salary wasn´t very attractive. Portuguese language link: http://www.netvasco.com.br/news/noticias13/31524.shtml
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread I can't wait for this season to start! Does anyone have any idea how much the season tickets will cost?? I've already put my email on the List to receive information, I was just hoping someone had an idea of how much I'm going to have to dish out for season tickets. I've got our first Rival Chant: " Puerto Rico - Puerto Rico - Chupame el Pito !!!! " Vulgar maybe...catchy yes...
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread Ticket prices: Reserved Seating: $25 East Stands:$15 (adults)$8 (children) West Stands:$10 (adults)$6 (children) Season ticket prices to be announced soon
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread So we must assume that for the West Stands Season Tickets will be between $100.00 - 140.00 because of the 14 home games. Hopefully there won't be any parking charge. Hmm...how would you all feel paying $140.00 for 14 home games ??
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread Not bad, but the team will probably be "family friendly" and ban it. It's a shame. And they wonder why they can't get hard core fans (they being US Soccer teams in general).
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread BAN IT ?!??! HAHAHAHAHA Have you ever been to a game at the Orange Bowl or any other venue that houses an Argentina vs. Colombia game or any other rival type game ?? You think the owners of MFC are going to "ban" fans for chanting ??? Please man....If that's the case, if we're going to be watching soccer like "fans" watch baseball, hockey and basketball in this town then I guarantee this team won't be successful.... I've been to soccer games where my team has lost but the experience was still exciting because of the stands, the singing, the chanting and the rivalry! So if we can't express ourselves as fans then please don't put a team on the field. I hope all the fans of MFC go absolutely friggin nuts!!! PLEASE FANS OF MFC DON'T SIT DOWN, WATCH THE GAME STANDING and JUMPING and SINGING. PLEASE DON'T ASK ANYONE IN FRONT OF YOU TO SIT DOWN, JUST STAND UP!!!!!!
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread I've been to MLS games where they drew the line way too early and assume USL1 follows the model. I wish more games were like you say.
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread Nice story in Miami Today paper: http://www.miamitodaynews.com/news/060323/story6.shtml Mentions TAM Air as a sponsor, along with a hotel as well. Also mentions how the team will play 11 months a year. Enjoy!

Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread Here's the link. http://www.miamifc.com/tickets/ Their ticket prices seem fairly reasonable for season, day of game and group. So ticket wise you could take a family of four to a game for $100 for the best seats. Although I've never really heard the term Reserved GA as a description. Also, they have a nice site.
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread MIAMI FC vs Portmore United is NOT free. So fellas, where are we buying seats?
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread Lowe's old Jamiacan team. Didn't they play in the CONCACAF club games? Anyways, MFC is playing their first home exhibition against them on Easter Sunday. The rumor was it was going to be free. Not!
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread The website looks nice. It looks like it is finally coming together. I have some Brazilian friends and family and they had no idea Miami has a team. Does anybody know how or when they are going to promote this team? I want this thing to be successful, so I'm hoping they start to promote soon and big.
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread I would buy my tickets soon. One of my co-workers is Jamiacan and he says tons of his friends are already planning to buy tickets. He thinks that 7,000 is too small, way too small. I'm buying my tickets TODAY! (West-side, GA-no sun)
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread I'll be buying tickets soon but I'll be in the East Side, all the games will be played at 4:00 pm or later so the sun won't bother...
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread The team's name is something of a working title, said Mr. Davidson, who explained that Traffic would hold a contest in the community to devise a name, nickname and mascot. "Miami has a big enough reputation," he said. "We want the community to adopt it." The quote in the article that intrigue me the most is the fact that they will hold a contest to devise a name for the team. I think they are setting up themselves to move into MLS within two years without the Miami Fusion name .
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread I went by the stadium this morning to check it out. The field looked pretty good, flat and not many divots or holes. One thing you can't tell from pictures is that the field is slightly raised from the surrounding track. Also the goal posts for football are partial dismantled. Another observation is that the West side stands seem to be further back from the field than the East side. This is because in addition to the track there is also the long jump pit right in from of the West stands. The scoreboard is still damaged from the hurricane. There were a couple of workers doing survey work in the parking lot just outside of the stadium.
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread So from your observation, which side is better East or West? I like the idea of sitting closer(east), but I don't really want the sun in my eyes(west).
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread You are so right! Read this....http://quote.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=10000039&refer=columnist_soshnick&sid=a5f7hE82YrEk
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread im glad you agree and recognize the problem MOST So.FL sport fans have. I urge the fans of Miami FC to be as passionate and FANATICAL as possible. I hope the person(s) behind me stand up just as I will be doing for the entire game. Me and the friends I am purchasing season tickets with will be standing, cheering, waving our flags (which will be made) and also making noise with our CORNETAS (horns)....PLUS we will be making a banner with the colors of the team with the word " HAMMOCKS " on it, which is our side of town. So look out for the HAMMOCKS banner and I hope my section becomes the rowdiest in the stadium. ( What are the official colors of MFC ? I see some orange on the uniform, but see none on the emblem. what are the colors?) I believe I will be in the EAST side because it will be closer, the sun doesnt matter to me.... Anyways to my fellow MFC fans, GO NUTS and HAVE FUN....
Re: 2006 Miami FC Thread I have always looked for a USL club to support, now I finally do have a team! Consider me a fan! For a team playing in the 2nd tier of American soccer, they have some pretty interesting signings like Rodriguez and Zinho (yes, Zinho is like 38)--but how often do you get a former WC winner in an A-League squad?? Either way, let's go MFC! Metro
