solid 2-0 win over Siena today for Samp. The first goal was a beautiful improvised scissor kick from Maggio, and the second from Gennaro Delvecchio.

Ziegler's goal scored against Messina http://youtube.com/watch?v=n9ZNSuxaeSY How is Ziegler doing with Samp?
He's showing lots of promise. Every game he has played in he has done well. Excellent technique and very smart on the ball.
In recent times, he has played at right midfield and when he has been moved forward, they have been in matches in which Sampdoria have had their share of injuries. This weekend, I think he'll be pairing with Bazzani upfront.
Bazzani's contract runs out in June and he has signed a 3 year deal with Livorno http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/index.php?action=read&id=58435
Looks like Sampdoria's plan for next season is set. 1) Novellino is gone and they need a new manager. 2) They don't know if they'll keep hold of Quagliarella, and Bazzani has left. They are trying to get Caracciolo and today it is reported they asked Manchester United for the loan of Giuseppe Rossi (http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/index.php?action=read&id=58860) 3) Their goalkeeping was a problem this season and it looks like they are interested in getting Roma's Curci on loan or even buying 50% of his contract.
Mazzari seems to be the preferred target. He has done a great job with Reggina if Sampdoria can get him, maybe i doriani can get the final CL spot. Caracciolo is dud. Rossi would be handy but only if Quagliarella is gone. Fabio has been very impressive and I wouldn't want him leaving i doriani yet. Sampdoria should buy his whole contract. He is wasting his time warming Roma's bench, especially for the erratic Doni.
Sampdoria director Marotta said the club are interested in participating in the Intertoto Cup this summer to try and get to the UEFA Cup. Previously, Italian clubs were afraid of the Intertoto because it started so early that there was no preparation for the season and most clubs found themselves relegated at season's end. But the format has changed, which has attracted the Italian clubs, because now the Italian team entered will only have to play 1 two leg tie in late July against a Cypriot, Macedonian, or Bulgarian team and if they win they will be in the UEFA Cup. http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/index.php?action=read&id=59000
Where do the Coppa Italia winners go to? UEFA or Champions League? Also, if Roma & Inter are already in the CL who will go to which cup as the Coppa Italia winners?
Coppa Italia winners get a UEFA place, but since Roma and Inter are already in the CL the UEFA spot goes to the 7th place team in the Serie A table.

Catania on Sunday arrives to Genoa to play Sampdoria...... Come on Catania, grab another point.... or a victory!
A draw is the most realistic outcome. I doriani aren't very consistent and Catania aren't playing at home.
Zenoni scored the winner in Novellino's final home match as Sampdoria's coach, a 1-0 win against Catania. Thank you, Pantanelli! Castellazzi made some crucial saves for i doriani. Let's hope we can finsh the season with a positive result against Fiorentina.
Pantanelli was pretty incosistent this season. At times he made amazing saves and then other times he made horrible blunders.
Also news today is that Gianluca Vialli is a candidate to take over Sampdoria next season. http://www.goal.com/it/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=309359
