Another great cup preformance by Boro today. Good luck in the semis against West Ham.

Tough for Newcastle to conquer Europe when they have a tough enough time trying to lift domestic silverware. :p

Of course, being a Wolves fan I can relate. So who am I to talk?

Indeed, many a year I have often gazed in awe of the gallentry of Troyes and a fat Patrice Loko.

    :D

    Boro 2-0 West Ham

Several players rested for the trip to Romania midweek. Now means we are safe for this season. :)rolleyes:)

I would take a similar result at Villa Park next Sunday as well please. Ta.

    *sigh*

I'll take it, could have been much worse. They missed a hatful a chances by the looks of it, and were poor in the 2nd half.

I think we're up against it, they normally don't concede and we need to score at least two more than they do in the return leg next week.

Hey, it's not so bad. Going down by a single goal on the road isn't terrible, just a bit of a disappointment you couldn't snatch an away goal. Yakubu and Morrison had good chances. I'm pretty confident you can get at least a reverse result at home. Viduka will be back, and your cup form at Riverside has been pretty formidable.

You're just doing the be-pessmistic-and-it-won't-happen thing. Don't blame you, it worked in the quarters. :p

I've got the match on my DVR, gonna watch tonight, but going down 1-0 on the road is nothing. Considering the report I read, the Boro keeper, made some great saves in the 2nd half. Just need to get 2 at home next week and keep a clean sheet.

Edit: that should be, we were poor in the 2nd half.

    Before any Romanian corrects me.

You never know. Tbh, anyhting else is a bonus in this competition really - I never thought we'd get beyond the quarters at the beginning of the season.

One better than last year is all I asked for really.

Steve McClaren can now officialy go ******** himself.

And by that I mean get hung and dry by the England job.

********ing loser. West Ham and that game was the footballing equivalent of stamp in the face.

If Orwell prophesised that the the future was a boot stamping on the human face forever, he must have been wondering about the future of football in England. Buh-bye Steve. You twat.

Jesus Christ. Liverpool are going to tear them a new arsehole in the final. And CFR Cluj or Romanian next August as well. Shame, I always liked West Ham. But now I've actually seen 90 mins of Pardew, Ashton and Harewood my opinon has changed of them from when they had that school of talent.

Think of the website 'friends forever' and then the words 'missing genitalia'

That said, we were 'Bestiality Porn' and 'wet weekend'

So I guess it works itself out. :)

And Loko blowing a 3-1 lead at home to Rubin to draw 4-4.

    I ********ING HATE FOOTBALL

btw: Shame it fell to Riggott eh?

LOL. The very definition of a Pyrrhic victory.

Schwarzer possibly out for a month with a fractured cheekbone isn't going to help anyone though.

It blows. He should be ready for the finals in Germany though.

With a broken cheek-bone it still means you can work on your fitness - it wouldn't impede you that much. The problem as a goalkeeper is that you have to make diving saves which obviously means you can't land on it. Trundle did this last season and he played with a mask on his face for about a fortnight. I am confident he will be fit for Germany.

Jones is a good keeper though, but its not looking good for Thursday.
