Hmmm. We tried to get a separate US-Russia thread going, but the substantive discussion stayed here. Which is fine, but since there's no [R] in this thread's title, please take US-Russia in-game/post-game comments to the thread with the [R], okay?

    Grazie.

Surprising there aren't many new players. I'd have thought Heinrichs would want to expand the roster before qualifying begins.

She was with the Nats at the 2002 Algarve Cup. A blurb in the news/notes article brought up the interesting point that she is closer in age to Katey Fawcett (17yrs-10 yrs) than to Joy Fawcett (17yrs-34yrs)- and something like "no mention if Katey is sharing her coloring books with Heather." The article may still be on www.ussoccer.com

    Whoops!

I'm sorry. That (17yrs-10yrs) should have been (17yrs-7yrs) for the real ages. Instead I placed the difference.

At the time of the Algarve Cup, Katey was 7- hence the correction.

    Slippery fingers...

    Re: Nike Cup Recap

I thought Heinrichs showed good sense in the views she expressed in the article. Of course, I don't expect that her critics on these boards will let up and give her any credit, but I figured I'd weigh in to support the job she did at the Women's Cup in any event.
