Before their World Cup Qualifying match with El Salvador on 2nd November 1981, Canada played a number of exhibition matches. According to various available newspapers, they played 6 games, winning 4, drawing one, and losing one. The matches were: Pre-tour matches 04-Oct-81 Canada 1-1 New York Cosmos - Calgary 07-Oct-81 Canada 4-0 New York Cosmos - Vancouver Caribbean tour matches 12-Oct-81 Trinidad & Tobago 2-4 Canada - Port of Spain Unsure of order or date of these matches ??-Oct-81 Guadeloupe 0-2 Canada - Basse-Terre ??-Oct-81 Netherlands Antilles 1-0 Canada - Willemstad So, could anyone tell me if there was another match? (there appears to be one victory missing from the supposed 6 matches) and also the missing dates. The Canadians recognise only the Trinidad & Tobago match as official, but the other matches were definitely played, sometime before 23-Oct-81. I guess the Guadeloupe match was not classed official because Guadeloupe is not in FIFA. I had a feeling the missing match may have been against Martinique, but I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best option might perhaps be contacting the Canadian soccer hall of fame. There are a couple people there that can look it up for you & email you back.
