Can't let Panfilo have the whole continent: Os Novos Baianos' terrific album Acabou Chorare. Preta Pretinha - sounds (and looks) like a lone guy on a guitar, and it is for two minutes, but watch the whole group come in at about the two minute mark. I love this song. A Menina Danca, filmed while the group was living together in a sort of compound. Brasil Pandeiro Misterio da Planeta . . . and I will PM Iceblink this time!
Deep Purple - Machine Head - very astute pick. The best album by one of the monster hard rock groups of the early 70's. And I'd add, probably the biggest disappointment for me when I saw them live. They were just collecting a paycheck. Also, I wasn't planning on picking them, but I can't disparage Boston's debut album. That was a quality album.
Wonderful, excellent, superb. That guy's got a great voice, and the players have 3 or four ears apiece... repped More information please?
Hiya! I'm here! Getting pic, etc. Unfortunately, won't be able to do youtube, as I am at work... and that sucks, because I bet there's some cool stuff from them performing live. Anyway, I didn't see this band anywhere. I did searches, but I saw nothing! This band WAS the 70s. They're the band I remember most from my childhood. Frankly, I didn't get into them at the time... but they were popular enough for me to pretend I did! I couldn't go anywhere without seeing the fact that they "RULED." Many still believe they do. Anyway, I had to choose this: KISS - Destroyer (1976) 1. "Detroit Rock City" (Paul Stanley, Bob Ezrin) – 5:17 * Lead vocals - Paul Stanley 2. "King of the Night Time World" (Kim Fowley, Mark Anthony, Stanley, Ezrin) – 3:19 * Lead vocals - Paul Stanley 3 "God of Thunder" (Stanley) – 4:13 * Lead vocals - Gene Simmons 4. "Great Expectations" (Gene Simmons, Ezrin) – 4:21 * Lead vocals - Gene Simmons 5. "Flaming Youth" (Ace Frehley, Stanley, Simmons, Ezrin) – 2:59 * Lead vocals - Paul Stanley 6. "Sweet Pain" (Simmons) – 3:20 * Lead vocals - Gene Simmons 7. "Shout It Out Loud" (Simmons, Stanley, Ezrin) – 2:49 * Lead vocals - Paul Stanley & Gene Simmons 8. "Beth" (Peter Criss, Stan Penridge, Ezrin) – 2:45 * Lead vocals - Peter Criss 9. "Do You Love Me" (Fowley, Ezrin, Stanley) – 3:33 * Lead vocals - Paul Stanley 10. untitled track (Simmons, Stanley, Ezrin) – 1:25 There was nobody like them... Gene Simmons's tongue... spitting blood... Those boots... that makeup. Pyrotechnics....
