16 years ago the alianza lima squad lost their lifes in a fatal airplane accident this team known as los potrillos was on its way to becoming national champs Juan reynoso who would go on to lead the national team and play succesfully in mexico did not make the trip because he was injured without a doubt the biggest talent peruvian futbol lost that day was a young man called luis escobar a player that at 14 made the alianza first team and at 15 played was starting for alianza lima called on to be the succesor of teofilo cubillas his life and the life of his team mates were cut down tragically
sadest day in alianza history who knows what a team that could have been... the players were so young and already so good...
This is the first time i've heard about this tragedy.. it deeply hurts me to think of what these players might have become. RIP
