And when they score, they will all slide in the mud. Watch.

    FT. FAS 2 - 1 Olimpia.

Houston will win the group with a victory or any level scoreline on 10/23/12 in Houston. Olimpia will advance with any victory at Houston.

I took the hypothetical case of each USA or MEX team winning 1-0 in their final match day. (That is valid for each team to with their group. Even if they already advanced, I just took a 1-0 win to get a highest-possible standing for each.) All eight slots would be from the two countries. The table of the eight winners would look like:

Grp; Gf; Ga; Diff; Pts; Team
    1; 13; 1; 12; 12; Santos Laguna [Mex]
    7; 10; 0; 10; 12; Monterrey [Mex]
    4; 10; 4; 6; 12; Seattle Sounders [Usa]
    5; 10; 2; 8; 10; LA Galaxy [Usa]
    3; 9; 2; 7; 10; Houston Dynamo [Usa]
    2; 4; 1; 3; 9; Real Salt Lake [Usa]
    6; 8; 3; 5; 8; Tigres UANL [Mex]
    8; 6; 2; 4; 7; Guadalajara [Mex]

So, yes, MEX teams finish 1-2-7-8, and USA teams finish 3-4-5-6. So the QF's would have two all-MEX matchups, and two all-USA matchups. The SF's would be two MEX-v-USA matchups.

One other point: Tigres and Guadalajara can't get a top-four seed: they could get up to 8 and 7 points, but there are already four group leaders with 9 points.

    Ok so far

Seattle is in they could reach 12 points but need a bunch of goals to move up higher than 3rd over all (depending on the 2 top teams wining).

LA Galaxy is in could reach 10 points but probably won't get no higher than #4 but losing could leave them at #8 or #7 almost guaranteeing a match up vs a Mexican team.

Olimpia is in right now, they are up 1 -0 @ Houston, Olympia could reach 6th, but most likely they would be #8, Houston all they need is a draw to get to 8 points and win the group

Herediano needs to score a goal and not lose by more than 1 to make the next round. a win @ RSL could mean the #4 seed. RSL needs a win of 1-0 or win by two+ goals.

So as of now Herediano is still in the second round with 10 points (0 - 0 game)

But RSL has not allowed a goal, so with a 1-0 victory they can make it to the next round.

So the 4th team in this thread grouping to move on is Herediano with a 0 - 0 draw.

So only thing to settle now is the rankings.

    So moving on so far.

    Seattle
    LA Galaxy
    Houston . 8 points + 6 GD
    Herediano 10 points + 3 GD

Congrats to Heredia on the advancement. RSL was very fortunate to be in this position after the Tauro match in Panama, a game that really should have resulted in elimination.

Have to say the biggest UNCAF disappointments for me are Marathon and Olimpia. I really expected them to push Seattle and Houston more respectively. Olimpia did better but losing to FAS?
