We did way better than I expected, tying at home against the worst team in MLS currently shouldn't feel great for Santos.
Only mental midgets would focus on something stupid like that.. so they got to the final after a playing a bad match... they still know they are a good team with good talent and have an equal chance to beat Monterrey
I'm sure that Santos fans are devastated at the fact of advancing. I can't say won though, those ties are victories for you guys.
A 1 - 1 win by Seattle, suck on that you fuckers! BTW I has Santos over MTY for the final, but I am not sure any more, I was expecting a bigger ass whopping. I guess I have to see what MTY looks like tomorrow.
Forgive me if I'm out of line here, but I'm not one of the people that was crowing about how we were going to win. I expected to lose by more than 3 goals and said so in this very thread. Seattle is not as good as Santos and Santos should not be happy about that performance at all. Advance or not, they let Seattle have waaaaaay too many chances.
Just as I and everybody else expected. After Rayados win tomorrow, it will be once again an all-Mexican final. What has MLS done to deserve four CCL berths, and equal amount as Liga MX teams? We deserve 5 and everybody else 3 or 2. And shame on seattle fans for saying Santos should be ashamed about their win. Just a month ago, all of MLS was celebrating a 3-2 aggregate win at home over a 10 man reserve squad.
Technically speaking MLS gets 0 CCL berths. The USA Federation gets 4, the Canadian federation gets 1. So MLS teams usually get 3-5 (other leagues in the USA/Canada could technically win 2 of the 5). The USA gets 4 for the same reason all the gold cups are played in the USA.
As the only seattle fan that's commented in this thread recently, your pluralization of seattle fans is hilarious to me. Go ahead, just say "shame on you ganapper." It won't hurt. The irony of your second sentence that I quoted juxtaposed with your first one is also hilarious. I wasn't super happy about the way we won against Tigres and was embarrassed by all the gloating about it. At the same time, as someone else in the thread said, "winning the game is what matters." Kudos to Santos for winning. They can be happy that they made it through without being happy about the way they did it. Just like I was happy we made it to the semi-finals, but wasn't happy about the way we did it.
Could and have. It's weird when I see the complaints about MLS getting 5 berths and zero complaints about teams playing in USL getting a berth. Like...why isn't anyone complaining about Puerto Rico qualifying? They play in the same pyramid as MLS, but in the 2nd tier. Before I get jumped on by a ton of people for that, I completely understand the complaints about MLS getting "5" I feel like it would be completely legitimate for MLS to lose the MLS cup runner up slot. In the end, I don't think LIGA MX wants more than 4 spots though, because that means fewer teams in Copa Libertadores.
No it wouldn't. It would just mean they'd have to go further down the list as far as who they send. Calmate, Salvadoreño. Nadie aqui se esta portando asi. No te tienes que poner en contra de nosotros, eres Latino tambien.
My apologies, you are correct. And as I understand it, it doesn't necessarily mean that it would have to be the case that they move down the list as the qualification requirements for Copa Libertadores are not the same as CCL.
