He fears another CP Bat's Bat Grab celebration.

Bats shot takes nasty deflection but Cillesen stays with it and saves it.

Reece James has kind of impressed me this match. The beat downs have come down the middle due to poor defensive midfield spacing or CB nonsense. He's been solid out wide.

this is why chelsea won't beat a top 4 side this year. They not only can't defend, they hate to defend.

Lumpy doesn't press like Klopp or gain possession like Pep. He has to keep a better shape on defense, especially the spacing in defensive midfield.

Christian has some kind of motor. He ran as much as anybody in an up and down game, and he was still going strong at the end. Must train like a madman. That said, I'm worried about early burnout the way he plays.

Post of the thread. Thanks everyone for playing.

Good result for them. More high profile CL matches to come for our boy, it looks like.

this was, what, the 8th consecutive start for him? I imagine we'll see some rotation soon, but he is proving too valuable to take off

Wew, now that Liverpool's B team had a good run out, let's see how the A team gets on.

Good result indeed. By the numbers, their last match should be their easiest and a win should put them through.

Fun game to watch but Lampard needs to learn how to play in these away CL fixtures when up a goal, and in the last 7 minutes when holding on to a point on the road, especially when a point is necessary to advancement scenarios. Chelsea were playing open in the last 7 minutes, but never threw enough players forward to threaten goal. Somehow though they kept getting carved open by the Valencia counter. Switching to 3 in the back with James and Emerson playing wide backs was not the right move there. They were doing much better with four across the back. They should have just moved Aspi over to the right, Emerson to the left and James to RM.

Puli was shot at the end, but Bats didn't really help him out on a couple of good passes from our man.
