at 31 he is in great shape. stouter than pulisic with the benefit of a decade more weight training but also seemingly more stamina even in his 30s than the youngster.

Chelsea's biggest problem in this game has been that whenever they win the ball, they don't find the forward or square option early enough, end up laying it back, then have to pass through the Man City defense which they seldom have done effectively. A lot of pointless circulation at the back and then an aimless long ball.

Sterling. 3-1. $hitty takes the points.

    Nope. VAR says offside. 2-1.

really do not like the EPL VAR rules..

that was a goal, Man City got robbed.....

now if your hair cross the line it's an offisde....i thought offiside was based on your feet position.

Wonder if he’d start him over Silva. As you said probably depends on opponent.

Pretty good showing from Chelsea overall, I expected City to increase the lead in the 2nd half. CP was fine, not too involved and final ball wasn’t great but movement was pretty good and he wasn’t making many mistakes. Just a rough match to be a winger in, I think.

it was never based on foot position.
They’ll sort it out a bit in the off season I’m sure, but that will have very little to do with VAR.
VAR is just ruling on the current offside rule... just doing it’s job.

You thought wrong. Consideration is given to the body, head, and feet, but not arms.

Man City is a cut above Chelsea, so it's another learning experience that CP will hopefully draw from going forward.

Man City a cut above just about anyone in Europe. No shame in not having some standout game against them.

CP was not explosive today, but I thought he played very smart. Quick and intelligent passes to keep the ball circulating and moving forward. I can't remember instances where he made mistakes and gave the ball up.

Someone else already stated earlier, Chelsea wasted a lot of time/chances passing the ball around back instead of looking for that quick ball to their front 3 to jump start the counter.

A big part of this game, especially in the second half became: At all costs get the ball to our global superstar WIllian! Willian of the 3 goals, no attacking pass and 100% near miss.

CP was so, so good with his movement. He was always inside the lanes but the pass was too late, too clumsy or just non-existent.

ManCity were there for the taking. DeBunyuns is on the Julien Green diet, aguero has adopted the maradona diet, Mahrez is morphing into Gündoğan who is himself morphing into danny devito.

And pep! no way. He went nearly full Mourinho in this one.
