Toughest group. 4 Teams representing the best CONCACAF countries (historically speaking).

I'm going Morelia and LA, though I think everyone in the group has a legit shot to progress.

The first two Galaxy games (at home) will be telling. If they can't beat Alajuela and Motagua at home it will be difficult to get out of the group.

This group is trickier than people give it credit for. I think Morelia makes it through, but 2nd place may very well come down to the LA vs Motagua games, with one of those teams making it through to the knockouts.

Toughest group for sure. Still, I think the LA flameout last time actually helps them here, they don't want a repeat.

    1. Morelia
    2. LA
    3. Motagua
    4. Alajuelense

Still, I could see any of the 4 making it, and any of the 4 not making it.

Very interesting goup and hopefully we will see some of the better games coming from this group but i honestly think Morelia and LA will pull through but as people have been saying this is the group of death and i would be suprised if a diff outcome is played out

I don't think you can predict what will happen in this group it is just to tough. Will be more clear after the first round.

I think the Galaxy tank in the Champions League again. Arena has made it clear that he is not into non-league competitions and LA is one of the least deep teams in MLS so starting the subs won't cut it.

I have always heard Arena say great things about the CCL. I see many low expectations from mls fans for the galaxy. The galaxy have been top 2 or 3 in mls for some years no? They have superstars beckham, Pablo Angel, a GK who many people here have said is better than memo ocha :D. And only the greatest yank player of all time Donovan. So whats the problem? Does Donovan need the Concacaf Champions League to be held entirely in the U.S. for him and the gals to be able to win it?

    OH BUUUUUUUUUURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Nice.

But I'm pretty sure Juan Pablo Angel is as good as gone. They don't have room for him on the roster.

And Arena just said this: “For us, the game on Tuesday is the biggest game of the year,” Arena said. “We have to win that game.”

Ala's current form and astroturf will cause problems for their opponents. With a top-heavy and bottom-thin roster, LA's stars are going to be totally exhausted by the end of the season.

    2) Alajuelense 1: Morelia 0

    Home teams held serve.

    Next games:

    LA v. Alajuelense

I'm glad to see that the galaxy put the starters last night, they seem to take this competition seriously, they deserve to go far in the Champions League I hope they will continue like that.

They also had starters vs. PRI last year and still lost.

I think that the difference is that they did not take the opponent for granted this time.

Last year they probably assumed they would walk over PRI with ease, and then they were surprised at home and could not do enough to come back in Puerto Rico.

LA will almost certainly have to get a home result against Morelia now.

Based on last years results, I would expect them to win. Seattle was the only MLS team last year that lost to a Mexican team at home in the group stage. Columbus, RSL, and TFC all won home matches against Mexican foes last year.

And Morelia looks like the wekest of the 4 Mexican teams.

With PUMAS filding a B team, this could be the year that a MLS team finally wins a game in Mexico.
