Plenty of injuries, arguably our most crucial game of the season so far...anything but a win would be a disaster. ForzaNapoliSempre! StartingXI (4-4-2): Meret, Di Lorenzo, Maksimovic, Koulibaly, Luperto, Callejon, Allan, Fabian, Insigne, Milik, Lozano.
What a brilliant decision it was not to buy another defensive midfielder in the summer, who’s gonna protect the backline now, Fabian?
Is it just me or does Koulibaly look a bit like his old self today. Carlo has them pumped up for this game
This is what happens when you go one up and stop playing... We should push on for the second instead of all this holding back nonsense.
We all knew we need midfielders. Ancelotti did not want them. So this is on him. Luperto at fault for Allan's in jury because he gave the ball away and caused the free kick. Lozano is just garbage. Milik shows his limitations. We had 20 good minutes and it's been back to the old sitting back and doing nothing.
Why do we keep blaming individual errors? K2 is out of position and the Atalanta player came very close to Meret. Maybe, we should ask why k2 is up there in the 1st place? Why isn't a midfielder or winger putting pressure on the ball holder? This is simple tactical stuff you learn in youth sides. Ancelottis napoli midfield has looked weak since he arrived
That's simply because in just about every single game, chances will come against you. It's an unavoidable part of the sport, and in some instances, the keeper should make the stop. This was one of those instances.
Overall I think we played well in the first half, much better than I expected. Unfortunately errors like the one Meret made are what separates us from Europe’s elite
Chances can be kept at a minimum that is my point. Under ancelotti we allow too many compared to previously, it's simple as that Meret cannot be expected to play a 10 out of 10 game every four days
Just admit he screwed up and move on. That was the ONLY open play chance he needed to stop the entire half.
