Guys, we finished 20th out of 24 teams. Congrats to us. We should bring back all of our core players because I love them and they are proven winners.
I typed out a nice guess but then decided to look it up on Major League Soccer Soccer dot Com List of available players will be made known on 11/16 (Saturday) and Expansion Draft is on 11/19 (Tuesday).
This has been mentioned in another thread perhaps the roster thread. I can’t wait until we see which players we exercise options to retain or re sign and which players we will move on from. I’m not sure if there is a exact date for that could be anytime between now and the transfer window that was mentioned to start in February
Got it. Thanks. I am sure MLSsoccer.com will have a big ol draft show or some such so the pundits can go over the lists and gasp and oooohhh over players on various teams who are not on their lists.
For several years ESPN showed the first hour ( I think) of the Superdraft live. I used to get credentials every year and they always took a huge chunk.of the floor space for their set. It always seemed ridiculous to drag all that equipment and a satellite truck and a crew plus Stone, Lalas etc. to cover what amounted sometimes to five or six picks of a draft nobody gave a crap about. They'd then have mlssoccer.com stream the same guys for the rest of the first 2 rounds, which was even more.ridiculous. Eventually ESPN got the message and killed.the whole thing
Well, it wasn't even really popular back then, was it? I think not. Popular enough for TV is a nonsensical phrase. Apologies.
It would have been Fox Soccer, since Rob didn't move to ESPN until a couple years ago. I'm sure Max Bretos was at the draft as well. Of course, that was back when every site would crash, including ESPN SoccerNet. They'd see the traffic slowly pick up as the hour neared the end. In today's world, I'm sure there'll be some sort of coverage on Facebook Live or Periscope. ESPN+ could probably work as well.
