Trump's best 40 seconds last night: WATCH: A supercut of Donald Trump's sniffles at the 2nd presidential #debate https://t.co/Y6J4mGSfc3 pic.twitter.com/bpiWekBOaZ— Yahoo News (@YahooNews) October 10, 2016
Oh, wow, the Bossie-Breitbart-Bannonpalooza makes total sense now. Trump fired up his fans. Now if "respectable" GOPers try to ditch him, he'll just turn his fans loose on THEM. It wasn't about trying to win. It was about Donald asserting dominance over the Republican party.
Here we go...Ryan will not defend Trump anymore but will not withdraw his endorsement. It is every man for himself in GOP country now. In calls this morning, many Rs privately want to defect from Trump. But they say the debate gave them pause since he roused their base.— Robert Costa (@costareports) October 10, 2016 Ryan told House Rs he's "only campaigning for House seats and promoting our agenda" & won't talk about or defend Trump, @pkcapitol reports.— Philip Rucker (@PhilipRucker) October 10, 2016
It's a big deal in the private equity world. They'll do whatever they can to keep it from being taxed earned income.
Predictable as he pretty much telegraphed that the GoP were off the bus What does value does the endorsement even have. It's clear they hate him and they are clearly going to pull financial and physical resource.
Who knew that "All Your Base Belong To Us" prefigured/foreshadowed the GOP late in the Obama presidency....
I'm amazed at the savvy of the DNC 8 years ago. Who else knew that selecting a Negro president would set off a chain of events that would result in the GOP destroying itself?
They're off the bus and they hate him. But they're still holding a spot for him on the Supreme Court.
Yeah, this is one man who is not going gentle into that good night. And now he has a cult who dotes on his every word and action.
Paul Ryan is such a profile in courage.....In the meantime, let's enjoy the freak show. NEWS: @SpeakerRyan just came back on call to clarify to angry members he is NOT unendorsing Trump— Jonathan Martin (@jmart) October 10, 2016 House conservatives are FURIOUS. Carter, McClintock, Long and especially Dana R angrily tell Rs they can't abandon Trump. LINK tk shortly— Jonathan Martin (@jmart) October 10, 2016 House conservative member emails: "Members 95% to 5% that commented are furious with leaderships approach. The stakes are too high..."— Jonathan Martin (@jmart) October 10, 2016
I asked this question on the other thread, but what does Secret Service do if he physically attacks Hillary?
Republicans up for re-election know that if too many party voters say "screw it, not voting for either one" and stay home from the polls, there will be Democrats winning elections everywhere and Republicans will lose majority. I can't believe the GOP has gotten themselves so deep into this mess but it has been years in coming.
Secret Service is staged off camera on all sides of the stage. If Trump were to physically attack Hillary, Trump would find himself pinned to the ground within seconds and Hillary would disappear off stage surrounded by SS agents and would be in an armored SUV speeding away from the venue shortly thereafter.
Here's another question...do the candidates have to go through a metal detector? I'm just spitballin' here.
There isn't a conflict here. By putting an end to the assault as quickly as possible they are protecting both Trump and Clinton from further harm.
I actually thought it was going to happen the first 10 minutes or so, but then apparently the valium kicked in and Trump calmed down (somewhat).
