10/3/18 Kick-ins Updates on #MISL40, MASL rule changes, the Rochester Lancers and Mississauga MetroStars turfandboards.com
I still think that not allowing the goalkeeper to cross midfield is one of the stupidest rules ever implemented in indoor soccer history. If opposing teams don't want the goalkeeper involved in the attack, learn how to defend against a goalkeeper!
Tommy also said teams usually pack it in when teams attack with their goalie instead of high pressuring.
Don't forget to invite one of the original Owners, Pete Rose. He should be right at home in Las Vegas.
Exactly. The defense should rotate to cut off passing angles and a defender should try to dispossess the ball from the goalkeeper. Maybe even flash a double team. This would force turnovers at least some of the time, and lead to the defense converting easy goals. Rarely do I see teams do this. Make the roving keeper pay for coming out with the ball. These goalkeeper rules are over-legislation of the game. 1% of goals were scored by goalkeepers last season. This sport keeps shooting itself in the foot.
