That gathering was so many years overdue. Yet, it served as an appropriate end cap to one hell of a roller coaster year.
Check out the Framing Center. They have maybe 3-4 locations around central Ohio. They've never done me wrong and many of their prices beat the big chain arts/crafts stores.
Looked like a great time. Shout out to the fine people who put it together and made it happen. I obviously didn't make this one, and likely won't make them all. But that's even more of a reason to say....here's to many more. Glory to Columbus.
Also, I accidentally walked off with two canopy weights that were not mine. My apologies. Let me know who I need to return them to.
Today kinda felt like the soccer game was secondary- which is crazy on a decision day. Today was about celebrating community. Our soccer community, the former player’s community, the big soccer community, and the fact that we are keeping that going for many years to come. It was also about freezing. Big thanks again to @Hamburgler03 for renting the RV and flying the aaa flag. Made finding the tailgate much easier. I’ll throw in more money for the next big soccer tailgate. Thanks for letting me jump in on here and post. You guys have made this past year much more bearable. Glad we had something to celebrate. It didn’t always seem like the last home game this season would be a happy one.
Couldn't hang after the game. Bailed after the last whistle. Held a baby for about 70 minutes. Chased three U10 kids most of the night. Only had a couple beers. The rain delay ********ed up my schedule. I know, I suck. My apologies.
Saw a lot of people, talked to very few of them. Shy and introverted. Still nice to break the 4th wall. Make this a yearly thing? PS updated pic!! =O
Also, everyone please rep @hardhead with all the love and lust you can muster. My main man hooked me up with tickets. He is da best.
I knew what you meant, you big lug. Not that I am aware, nor am I surprised. The white whale still roams free, Capt.
The Smoking Monkey remains a mystery wrapped in an enigma. Maybe some day... Many thanks to Ham, Chelsey, and Drag (and others) who made this happen. *large chunks of 4th wall strewn across the parking lot, much like the apples after the match* (Award to DnD for his distance and accuracy!)
First, thank you to @Hamburgler03 for providing the RV today, it worked out really well. Secondly, It was a pleasure to meet all of you that attended the AAA Tailgate "reveal" party. After all that we have been through over the last year, it was only fitting that we finally met each other in person at this great tailgate event. As a season ticket member since 1996, I have to say this was the most amazing day I have enjoyed as a Crew supporter. From the Legends game, to the conversations we all had afterwards at the AAA tailgate, and then the match that put The Crew into the playoffs...Thank you to all. Cheers !!!!
Seriously that was a top five all time tailgate. It was tremendous to meet all of you and hats off to @Ch(Elsey) and @Draghignazzo for all of the work. It legit was awesoMe to get to know both of you better putting this together. It was awesome to meet so many of you and put faces with your BS personalities. Thank you as well for our moderators for not banning any of us. Last thanks are to @Kyle Crew and wife for passing the cup around for donations (and to all that donated). That really meant a lot. @whiteh
Those went up on the canopy I had borrowed from a friend that you all set up. I had no idea where the weights came from. Sorry I didn't get them back to the right place. It was a real pleasure to meet you all. My kid said it was his favorite Crew game yet...and I've taken him to dozens of games in 4 different cities over the last 7 seasons. I was pretty focused on making sure he was having a good time so I didn't get to spend as much time chatting as I would have liked. So let's do this again. Thanks to Chelsey, Ham, and others for doing so much of the heavy lifting.
Oh, and to whomever turned and finished grilling the 6x Johnsonville Brats I put on the grill and then totally forgot about, thank you. Or to whomever found and had to deal with the 6x charred husks of Johnsonville Brats that were inexplicably still raw on top, sorry. And now I'm going to go sleep until Tuesday. Goodnight.
