Pulisic on after 64 minutes, Yedlin starts for Newcastle.. haven't had a Yank Abroad showdown in the EPL for some time...
and wow - I create the thread and just like that it's 1-0.... if I were a betting man, I'd say I should do that more often
Pulisic sets up the goal with a run from midfield to the right corner of the box. His cross is slid by Hudson-Odoi over to Alonso, who smashes it home.
I corrected it. The initial video of the goal was choppy and extremely poor quality, so I basically had to guess who the player was between Pulisic and Alonso.
Bruce foolishly took out Almiron, who had been doing a solid defensive job, and added a striker (Carroll). Chelsea scores a minute after. Yedlin was ace in that one.
He made the pass when surrounded by three Newcastle defenders. Something he should do more often, not try to dribble all three. He gets the ball out, no matter where, it's going to be dangerous because if there are three on him, there has to be someone alone somewhere else.
The clip of the goal makes it looks almost as if Puli was trying to connect with Alonso directly, the ball had enough juice on it to get to him if Odoi doesn't intercept it.
Video stream sucks, but been hearing his name quite a bit. That's a good sign for an offensive player.

Can you put that clip where Puli passed to Tammy and Yedlin blocked it? The Chelsea is screaming that Puli should have just pulled the trigger himself.
Chelsea boards (Shed End) are pretty clear that they think Pulisic needs to be more selfish - and that he seems to have lost some confidence. But others say he made the perfect lay off to Abraham who was blocked by Yedlin. Regardless - he did well today and Mount was quiet.
The screaming is wrong. Passing was obviously the right choice there. .@yedlinny with a goal-line clearance to prevent a @cpulisic_10 assist 😳 pic.twitter.com/bNxeLpnWLN— NBC Sports Soccer (@NBCSportsSoccer) October 19, 2019
Both Puli and Yedlin did well today. BTW they were not facing each other, Puli was close to the center. I guess compensation for being denied the Brooks vs. Adams. Is Bigsoccer having problems?
Can anyone put together an all touches video? From my poor video stream, it seems Pulisic had learned to use his body and arms a bit more to push away defenders. That's good signs.
Yeah, Pulisic did the right thing passing, he draws out the keeper and lays off to a wide-open Abraham. Now, Tammy should maybe have done better with it, but Yedlin also made a great play.
