    Seattle Sounders
This week’s league match finds Sounders FC in Boston at the end of a three-game 10,000 mile road trip. After last week’s Cascadia Cup clinching victory at Vancouver (led by Soooooooopa Freddie Montero’s two goals) Sounders travelled to Guatemala City. The club didn’t fare quite as well in Guatemala City against Communicaciones. Against the central American side Sounders were led by beloved midfielder Osvaldo Alonso who fired home twice to rescue a single point.
Saturday’s match will represent a challenge for the club as New England has been struggling for results recently and is surely hungry for a win. Revs are led by the talismanic midfielder Shalrie Joseph who has eight goals and a single assist on the 2011 season. Forward Rajko Lekic and fellow midfielder and US international midfielder Bennie Feilhaber round of the top three in goals scored with six and three respectively. Even though he hasn’t been with the team long Feilhaber is proving his worth and leading the Revs in assists with four. Co-leading the list is defender Chris Tierney with four as well, rounding out the top three is midfielder Pat Phelan on three.
The keys to the match for the Sounders will be shutting down the Revs danger man Shalrie Joseph. He’s the lynchpin to the Revs attack. If they stay strong on him and on defense they will be able to shut down the Revs attack. Next on the list: find a way to beat the always clever Matt Reis. He’s a crafty veteran that has been in the league a long time. If they can move the ball around and attack on a counter it should leave the Revs vulnerable.
If you haven’t had a chance to meet the Cascadia Cup be sure to make it out for our Seattle viewing party. It will be held at the Atlantic Crossing, just north of the University District in Seattle. There you’ll be able to take pictures and drink out out of the cup. Hell, you can do almost anything you want with it. The only thing you won’t be allowed to do is take it home.
