41' 0-0 Rapinoe sends a long pass up the mid-right to Wambach at box top right. Again, Wambach exhibits some lack of pace, unable to blow past the 1 defender, who closes her down and rides her wide of the near post. From 5m with no angle, Wambach crosses low, and nobody's there. Rodriguez steps up to harasses the defense at 15m, and Canada clears it into touch.

44' 0-0 Canada left corner (their 1st of the match), to Sinclair's head at 6-top near post, popped high and way wide right.

45' 0-0 Rapinoe carries up the left sideline, crosses into the box, and Wambach runs right-to-left around the 6 and gets a poor touch at near post, but can't control. Canada clears it out for a left throw in.

45+1' 0-0 Whitehill on right sideline drills #10 Robinson in the torso again -- Robinson drops to her knees and elbows as Whitehill calls for a handball :D Right throw-in is pinged around aimlessly. Halftime.

A chance but not a great chance.

I don't know why Solo is not out there.

63' 0-0 USA has held most possession in Canada's half so far. Off a free kick, Canada sets up past midfield, but USA steals and counters, with Wambach running loose toward the box top left. Again, the pace isn't there, and she drifts out wide and opts to chip a cross toward the far post that bounces harmlessly over.

68' 0-0 Canada long ball up the middle leads to a rare breakaway, #21 Chelsea Stewart is 1v1 with Mitts from box top left into the box. Mitts blocks the shot, chases it into our right back corner, and bounces it off Stewart for a right throw-in.

Also watching Guadeloupe-Costa Rica this half :D [result]0-2, Borges with a golazo bicycle kick from 13m right post at 03'[/result]

are we not scoring because 90% of the balls are being served to Abby and she is constantly surrounded by defenders or because Canada is playing in a bunker formation?

I think both. It looks like her teammates are trying to get her that 100th goal.

77' 0-0 Wambach receives ball about 30m center, threads a forward pass to #19 Cheney entering box top center. One slightly poor touch doesn't bring the ball with her, she has to curl her run tightly to come back to the ball, and #2 Emily Zurrer has just enough time to slide-tackle it away, causing Cheney to squash her flat.

79' 1-0 LeBlanc punts a poor ball, USA pings it, Boxx passes north to Cheney, who passes inside-out to Wambach running through the box top mid-left. Wambach carries for a touch, and rolls a shot just inside the far post. 100!
