I hope it's okay that I made this thread, I just noticed that there wasn't one.

Timo Hildebrand will be our goalie for this match, which will take place in Rostock.

    and Slovakia.

btw: The match takes place at October, 7th. ;)

i'm ok with the Fritz nomination but i don't understand the Trochowski and Schlaudraff nomination.

Trochowski is the most overrated player in the last 5 years and wtf is Schlaudraff?

    Where is Simon Rolfes?

Re: [10.07.06] Germany vs. Georgia: Friendly [R]

    Trochowski overrated? Umm...no

We could argue about the time of his nomination - he certainly isn't in best form and he is needed in the U21. But he is definitely a candidate for EURO 2008. Btw Trochowski has always played good in the U21 even if he lacked form.

Löw would have nominated Patrick Helmes but since he is injured he decided to nominate Jan Schlaudraff which is ok for me. Better than Kuranyi. But I still don't understand how he can nominate Madlung, Hitzlsperger and Hanke? Wtf!

Anyway, congrats to our new boys:

    Thank you! :D

I'm interested to see how everyone works out with the squad. I haven't seen Trochowski or Schlaudraff play too much, so I can't really say much on them but Fritz seems good.

Trochowski is a competent midfielder to fill the new post.

Fritz does not appear to be a reliable defender to me.

Schlaudraff , can't comment on him. Haven't watched too many Aachen games.

Its a friendly. Good chance to see some youngsters. Particularly interested to see Schlaudraff (fck I'm gonna have hard time with that name...)

Re: [10.07.06] Germany vs. Georgia: Friendly [R]

Schlaudraff comes from the youth of Bor. M'Gladbach which created a lot of great german footballers.
He is considered to be a big talent since a very young age. He needed more time than i expected due to the fact that Mönchengladbach had a phase where they bought simply too many half decent players preventing the good youth players of Gladbach to get a place.
Schlaufdraff has a good technic and pace. He also scores goals (like he showed last season in the 2nd league and now again) unlike Asamoah, Kuranyi and Hanke and we shouldnt forget that its not the easiest thing to score goals in a team like Aachen.

    Trochowski...
For me currently the most talented german midfield player and this includes also all A-Team players. What he lacks is that he doesnt show his abilities constantly but u could see in his U21 games and for Hamburg what great talent he has (superb passing and technic).

Fritz is for me an improvement to Owomoyela and Friedrich. Sure he cant compete with Lahm (there are prolly anyways very few in the world on this position who can) on the RB position but he is a good 2nd option.
I know that some ppl doubt his defence qualities based on recent Bremen games but nobody should forget that Fritz sometimes looked bad simply because the whole Bremen defence was in a very bad shape.
In the Barcelona game u could see his real abilities, he was the one who made Ronaldinho invisible and had at the same time very good offensive actions (he fits well into our philosophy of fast attacking football).

I'm really excited for Trochowski, he deserves it.

I wouldn't make a big deal out of these new nominations, they are being given a try because so many regulars are injured (Huth, Mertesacker, Deisler, Borrowski).

Fritz should not play , the only good thing about him is his tackling. but otherwise he runs in circles.
Trochowski is great the only bad thing about him is that he tries to score verytime he's 20m-0m from goal

 Fritz is very good offensively, too. (Better than friedrich for sure) I still prefer jansen over him.
Trochowski tries to score sometimes from distance but that´s a good thing since his ranged shots are always very dangerous.

Hey Friedrich scored today ;) But you are right. Still not convinced on the Fritz yet, but I'm not sure why Merte was not called up, he's done pretty alright since coming back, probably not risking him, but what I'd do is not play him against the Georgians but play him against Slovakia.

Löw didn't nominate Mertesacker after a long talk with the best coach in the world: Thomas Schaaf. ;) He just made 2 games after his injury and still has problems with his heel after every game. Löw would be a dead man if Mertesacker would return with an injury to Bremen. ;-D

A Friedrich-Friedrich CB duo is good enough for these two games.
