He's got killer instinct in critical games (i.e. Bronze Medal game at 12 Olympic Games, must-win game vs. Uzbek at home, etc.)

he's this generation's Kim Nam-Il, Eul-Yong Ta, Yoo Sang Chul. i do love him for it, but just as long as he doesn't get a red.

kinda sad to think for how long we've relied on Koo for this aspect of his game and to think we once had the 3 aforementioned all playing for the NT at the same time for not a bad stretch. :notworthy:

 Koo will be one of STY's key players in the central midfield, especially because KSY will miss out most probably. It doesn't hurt that he's playing CM for FCA again, to get used to that position just in time.

Good to see Ji back. Tho I criticize him hard, I want the best for & from him. Btw he still better than Usami who had excelled in J League.

He's being wasted. Was one of the worst players on the pitch. It's not wrong to use him deeper, but the way he's being used is idiotic. Instead of a box to box type which would suit him better, he's even played more defensively than Baier. They should've bought a proper replacement for Kohr, but a overrated player (Leitner) and a limited player (Khedira) were bought in the last two transfer seasons instead. They'd better switch to a 3-4-1-2 with Gregoritsch more up front and Koo behind..

Of course could also be that he's had a very bad day. Because against HSV, he had looked much better. Idk if Baum told him to play more defensively yesterday, but it looked like that at least.

I don't understand, watching the highlights he didn't seem that bad, on the contrary.

He had some errant passes but recurring theme to last week and this week is that he's playing very restricted right now. He had a high pass success rate past week because all of his passes were sideways and didn't do anything daring with the ball himself.

Yesterday he was less tidy and only marginally more aggressive but Koo is best with less discipline.

He wasn't utterly shite or something. He just didn't contribute anything to the game. It must be a mix of various reasons such as lack of confidence and form after his injury, "new" position he has to get used to (not exactly new but you know what I mean), new players that also have to settle in, bad managing, etc. He is much better used as a 10 tho.

edit: totally agree with you @skimmilk

Not really related to Koo or Ji, but Usami went to Fortuna Dusseldorf.
