^^But if they take actions that will reduce players ability to get higher salaries that is anti-worker and probably also violates some EC regulation on labor wages.

  2. Yup, but we have rules that curbed human rights for purpose of a higher cause. I had examples of that in another thread, just forgot them and the thread I posted it. Getting old you know.
One example is known to you. It's the banning of U18 soccer players to sign a contract being from outside the EU.

This German news paper in it's editorial comments on Hoeness hypocritical stance. He doesnot mean what he says.

The Dutch Algemeen Dagblad on the other hand believes he ment it.
"Hoeness bekritiseert koopwoede: Niemand is 100 miljoen waard
    ."

To be honest, I think the German newspaper editor is the one who's right. Der Ulli recently left jail for being dishonest to the taxman. It's just a bridge too far to believe he's sincere this time.

Article on the financial managent of PSV by Eindhovens Dagblad 6th of sept. 2017:

What I find worrying is that too much of the budget depends on players sold and the ( now missed ) revenues of European competition.
The premise in these uncertain times for Dutch top clubs should be that the core budget consists of stone hard income and extra expenditure only when extra revenues are generated and in the pocket.

    Hey everyone,
I'm doing my masters in sports management and need participants to take part in a short ten item questionnaire about what our experiences as a fan of african football are. The questionnaire will take no longer than 5 minutes to complete.
    Here is the link:

    Thanks

Isn't this the same approach that led them into trouble several years ago? IIRC, the good citizens of Eindhoven had to bail the club out.

  8. If I remember correctly that time they got into trouble because they had too many high earning players under contract, without having the budget and revenues/reserves balanced.
The article Ilinked tells the situation is different from those days. But I feel they still are sailing in dangerous waters.

  10. Ceverin, the UEFA president, has announced to develop measures in lthe light of recent developments in Europe.
In Europe clubs are being taken over by countries disguised as investor companies. See ManCity and PSG.
This could have serious implications for the health of the sport. You're not anymore talking about billionaires with a status toy competing for the titles, but against countries with billions spitting out of their wells. Even clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United are under threat of being pushed to the back ground. What if a country like China or India for prestigious reasons do the same? In the end we could see a global soccer league run by gouvernments outside FIFA/UEFA with pockets so deep it takes the breath of normal clubs.
It's impossible to compete with autoritarian countries with unlimited resources in comparison to clubs depending on revenues.
What could UEFA or FIFA do? Those "investors" could simply take their clubs out of the leagues and put them in a world wide superleague financed by the treasure chests of countries.
The financial brakes I used to talk about in relation to normal funded clubs, being at risk to loose a too big part of their revenues by breaking away from their core league, doesnot apply anymore with the backing of the treasure chests.
Given the ridiculous amounts of money to be payed to players, these willnot object for a club to be relocated to the desert out of the reach of law makers..

Nice article in the NY Times on the adventures of American owners of EPL teams.

  12. According to El Pais, the Chinese company United Vansen that owns ADO Den Haag, has used ADO to pay money to the Spanish FA officials, that are now being investigated for corruption. The payments were the result of contracts UV made with the Spanish about image rights of the Spanish team, Spanish coaches going to China and assistance in building stadiums. Because of Chinese restrictions in financial transfers the money couldnot be payed directly to Spain..

  13. Merkel warns about transfers and Ceferin waggles his tail:
    http://www.sport1.de/fussball/2017/...rkel-kritisiert-entwicklung-auf-transfermarkt.

    Merkel fordert Reform

    AFP/Tijani Goullet 04-12-17, 18:47 Laatste update: 18:51

Javier Tebas puts a red hot glowing iron bar up the .sssss of the UEFA. You never know what side effects a complaint with the EU will have.

Betaalden grote mediabedrijven steekpenningen voor tv-rechten?

Murdoch beschuldigd.
