(More out of principle than anything else)

I was slapped with an infraction by a mod whose national team embarrassed itself this week. Whatever.

My question is whether that infraction will eventually expire (assuming I stay out of trouble), or if - because one dude had his knickers in a knot - I'm somehow carrying a demerit into perpetuity.

    What's the use of infarctions?

You can still posts and do all of the stuff.

I think infarctions are useless unless i see some purpose of it.

It creates controversy/drama, making the site more exciting and for the creation of such threads about infractions. Plus it gives mods that power they've never had IRL. lol

It is an attempt to quantify the "fouling" in BigSoccer. Basically, it used to be that cards were handed out on non-quantifable basis. Posters had to meet a criteria, but occationally it was vague and unfair. Additionally there would be posters that would asses on and off causing some forums problems, but never asshole enough to get a card. Just like a somebody may get carded in football for constant fouling, this has the same idea. Finally, some posters would troll a board for a few posts, leave to another board, troll for a few posts, and move to a third and troll. Now that there are infractions, it is an easier way to track who is doing what on which forum. Again, trying to quantify. It is not perfect, but definately better than what was before.

    I see it like this:

If you're playing soccer, sometimes the ref may pull you aside for a chat. You leave the chat without a card.

That may be BigSoccer's "version" of this infraction system.

I got carded just for saying something someone didn't like. Not a mod, just a poster with a vendetta and no sense of humor. Can these cards come off?

How do you give/receive an infraction? Is it a negative rep?

Infractions are only given by moderators. They are different from reputation, inasmuch as infractions can have implications for your ability to use the site (if you pile up too many infractions, you get a yellow card and, potentially, a red) and they aren't visible to other users, unless they result in a card.

Why do they remain like a scarlet letter?

Huss is just a sockpuppet for a well known poster.

It seemed like a pretty bogus neg rep. I just don't want some childish vendetta to affect my ability to come on this site.

I assume a Red card is a permanent ban from BS?

When do the infraction points get taken off my bigsoccer page?

They expired over a month ago, but they still show up saying they are expired.
