I think we are very lucky in Mexico, Mediotiempo is now an awesome site, one of the best going:- 1) Medio Tiempo 2) The Pink 'Un 3) My mates Pumas site (previously mine) 4) My El Salvador site (well, I would say that, wouldn't I?) 5) Got to say bigsoccer, innit?
www.femexfut.com.mx Just a few years ago, an organization that was raking in multimillion dollars did not have a website. They had one, but sucked and it has changed 2-3 times and everytime for the better. They have up to date news, news from different publications with links, butt load of stats, and administrative information. www.mediotiempo.com great stats, real time scores, interviews, good columns, good blogs, and great pics. www.jorgewitker.blogspot.com You can catch Jorge on TeleFormula's show En Formula Con El Deporte. Jorge was one of the founders of Soccermania. Soccermania became the best sports magaizine in Mexico under his command. The company changed its mission and put in a person that did not know anything about soccer and the quality of the magazine went down. In fact, to save money, the new boss closed down the office on the weekends to save administrative expenses. You had a 'weekly' football magazine that had its offices closed on the weekends? Did anybody ever tell that guy that football is played on the weekends? They had published the following weeks magaizne on friday, prior to the weekend's fixtures. This guy thought selling girls in thongs was going to sell.... stats went down, quality went down... and the magazine went down in sales. Anyhow, Jorge knows his sh1t. He is a huge history and stats buff. He worked for the FMF for a time being. I spent many train rides with him in Germany and was just a delight to talk to about football in general. He probably has the best blog. I believe mediotiempo just added him as one of their contributers. anywhere Jorge is at, quality goes up. He is a good guy. www.teleformula.com.mx I click on the sports section to read columns and up to date news. Raul Orvanos, Carlos Albert, Aldo Fdz, Jorge Witker, and Jorge Valero all give different opinions. I use to catch them on online (en formula con el deporte) but now DISH offers teleformula. You can send emails throughout the show and they will read them. These guys do read emails and do take the fans into account. www.esto.com.mx say what they will about Carlos Trapaga and the mafiosos of OEM, ESTO is still king in my opinion. I know they have their agendas, but they are not a yellowpage sports publication like TV futbolnoveals (aka Record) www.espndeportes.com i dont care for Los Protagonistas, but i do like they have a good video and multimedia section. I just watch it for the videos and highlights. HONORABLE MENTIONS www.laaficion.com www.el-universal.com.mx www.jornada.unam.mx www.oncetv-ipn.net/noticias/ www.skysports.com www.news.bbc.co.uk/sport www.marca.es www.ole.com.ar www.fifa.com www.conmebol.com www.eufa.com
interesting post, but I am surprised that the BBC got in there, the football coverage is limited really just to UK footy, and even then is not that brilliant (except Vickery of course, but he gets one column a week and it's hidden away). If you want a UK based sports page the Guardian is much better i think. Obviously still fairly UK-biased but better writing and comment than the beeb.
i read that as well from time to time. skysports is usually where i catch all my UK football. but i do read the bbc... i also have purchased quite a few football DVDs produced from them...
What do you guys think about Univision.com con el tema del soccer?. Do you think they give good updates/reports?
Thanks, if my thread does not get merged or closed it got 2 be good cause Sidspaceman close me almost every single thread i open. jeje
