A fine of £16000 for a team who get 6 yellow cards is pure greed by UEFA. UEFA sucks.

What will they think of next?

Of course the Barcelona players played like angels. The game was physical and full of dives with both sides doing their best (or worst - whichever you prefer) to get whatever advantage they could. Both sides were equally guilty of stretching the laws as much as they could and sometimes going beyond.

The thing is, Barcelona can go long stretches without playing a match that is riddled with controversy, bickering among managers, unusual # of reckless challenges, whining or other needless BS. But with Chelsea, this nonsense seems to occur almost every match from Carling Cup ties to the Champions League.

Since this stuff seems to follow Chelsea (or more specifically Jose Mourinho) around more than anyone else, how can you say the blame is equal?

    35 seconds.

    Yup.

35 seconds after the kick off, we had the first dive of the game.

    35 seconds.

    Deco.

    'nuff said.

Because there were two sides on the pitch who tried to get away with whatever they could.

Before that even, Mourinho ran his mouth during the pre-game press conference in an attempt to influence the referee.

Yes - but even the special one wasn't quick enough to start off the bad mouthing, coming in a very slow third place to barca players ;)

    35 seconds...shameful!

That's bad news. A fine of that size could put a serious dent in Chelsea's transfer options come January.

Not biased in any way then.

But by far the funniest thing about that footage, is when Terry kick the ball at Deco on the ground (about 2mins 40secs in). Watch as Deco prepares for his "i've been shot" oscar performance, the ball hits him, and he miraculously recovers. Terry I salute you.

He's innocent! It's just one big conspiracy against Chelsea! By Barcelona, the FA, UEFA, FIFA, the G-14, Sepp Blatter, Anders Frisk, Arsenal, Glazer, and probably that Al-Fayed guy who owns Fulham!!!

i officially became anti chelsea after this match.

They are not just money hungry football players. They are cheaters who find joy in breaking the other teams legs instead of playing football.

And mourinho has guts to complain about Chelsea players being sent off?
    Deluded.

You can say diving is part of a game. It can be dismissed as cheeky as nobody gets hurt. SOme hate it. Whatever. But behind the back tackles should never be part of the game.

If you dont like the other team, go up there and punch them instead of acting like cowards and use the Beatiful game as a cover for their violence.
Zidane is more manly than the chelsea player for just going up to materazzi and headbutting him.
At least zidane's action would have no aftermath on materazzi's career.
Chelsea players were trying to finish off Messi's career for good.

The amount of whining from a bunch of fairies about Chelsea's alleged physical style is amusing. They played just as good football as Barcelona did in that match anyhow, if not better. The referee was blowing his whistle far too often, and handing out yellow cards for the smallest of offences.

The only challenge in tha game that even came close to possibly being a bad challenge, that I can remember, was Carvalho on Deco. And that one was just funny. Trying to end Messi's career? Oh please get a grip. No single challenge in that game came anywhere near being career threatening. It was a game full of petty offenses more than anything. You'll see worse challenges in England every weekend. Not everybody is a pansy, remember.

And Diving does a lot of harm to the image and reputation of the game.

if u personally know a single player who have ended their career with tackles, i am sure you will think differently.

And just because they do it in england, it doesnt mean the rest of the world wants to see that kind of challenge.
We want to see beautiful goals. We dont want to see Terry shoulder charging somebody when the ball is not in play, or see him kick the ball right into another player after the whstle is blown.

We want to see football. Not Kung Foo. And if u say playing football is for pansies and kung foo is for the manly english football, than i suggest you watch american football or rugby instead and lay off soccer, beacause soccer is a beautiful sport. I dotn want to see kung foo in soccer.

16000 is nothing to the rough teams which administer it _regularly_ (guess who?)
