Hope springs eternal: http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2016/...referral&utm_content=News&utm_campaign=Unpaid Queretaro's Jonathan Bornstein hopes consistent play leads him back to US national team
Actually, I do think he deserves another shot. After Fabian, he's on par with the rest of the competition for LB: Ream, Castillo, Garza, Acosta, and Shea.
i really liked the way he played vs dc, and i dont see any reason why he cant get a callup in the next year or two
Around the 10th minute, JB lunged for the ball at the same time as Jurgen Damm, beat him to the ball/foot. Damm collapsed, was carried off the field on a stretcher. It looks like a major knee injury, a bit like Stu Holden-Johnny Evans collision. No card was given.
That sucks. Hate to see young promising players go down regardless of them being our rivals. EDIT: Vidoe of the challenge here - http://www.univision.com/deportes/l...-y-tigres-empatan-y-dejan-todo-para-la-vuelta Looks like Bornstein took a hard touch and the ball bounced a bit to far and he and Damm got there at the same time with Jon's momentum taking him over the ball and into his knee. Not reckless in my opinion.
Bornstein went 90, but was involved in a poor exchange with another defender that led to 10-man Tigres scoring the go ahead goal late. The match finished 2-0 Tigres.
Got 7.1. Queretato's left side was graded much higher than their immediate opposition, America's right. http://www.sofascore.com/queretaro-america/ONsbO
http://www.sofascore.com/team/football/queretaro/1951 Got the highest score on the team at 7.5, making him technically the MOTM.
He starts again: Jonathan Bornstein starts at LB, Luis Gil on the bench for Querétaro vs Puebla. 6:00pm ET UDN #USMNT pic.twitter.com/KI4A0tlLgA— Roderick MacNeil (@rodmacneil) July 30, 2016
So Queretaro won 2-1 and Bornstein went 90+4. Unfortunately I tuned in at the 90th minute mark but I saw Johnny B!
http://www.sofascore.com/queretaro-puebla/QNsbO JB got 6.7, averages 7.07 for the season (3 matches). Tito Villa with the brace and MOTM at 8.2
