The guys discuss the US v Canada friendly coming up in late January 2013. Who plays? Who doesn’t? Does it matter? If so, how much? Who’s got a real shot at making the big boys roster in 2014? On the Straight Red Card. www.thestraightredcard.com
Believe me the only reason Klinsman has any Dynamo players on the roster is because it is being played in Houston and they want to put butts in the seats. Although Brad Davis has been one of the most creative forces in MLS for the past 3 years, Jurgen has not really given him a shot. Brad has also been one of the most sought after players in the league as well. The Dynamo have had an offer the last 3 seasons from other MLS teams that were keen to get him and they were told a flat NO.
“Professional Soccer”? Good luck against the mighty Cosmos.
Just kidding, of course. Good luck and I enjoy hearing you guys back again.
Thanks autogolazzo… Having grown up a Cosmos fan as a youngster it will be hard to cheer against them–but it will be made easier because of all the pride and hard work involved in putting this Indy team together…
Hey,
I don’t think Drew Carey has any problem rooting against the LA Galaxy when they play Seattle.
I was a Cosmos fan, as well, but I think that the current state of the Cosmos is a very easy to root against.
Of course they will never possess the talent that they had back in the day: Fabio Cannavaro, Patrick Vieira, Nicky Butt, Brad Freidel, Robbie Keane, Robert Pires and the like. Ahh… but they could never get past an old and depleted ManU…ever. I’ll take that 6-nil thrashing of Bundesliga champions Hamburg over ManU any day.
Their new fake stadium looks cool though. Are Coby Jones and Eric Cantona still involved?
I think Bruin is a comer, too. Strikers are late bloomers, and he is already decent. And I would prefer Wondo playing off of somebody like him. Heck, I like Wondo better as a winger than a target guy. Jozy had to grow into that role, despite being huge. But in a Camp Cupcake, Klinsmann is more likely to be thinking system dictates position, rather than talent dictating lineup. We shouldn’t worry too much about that, though. I think in the Hex he will design his lineups around the best available talent and try to explain why that fits exactly with his scheme.
