Who’s the Genius that Decided to Name the US Nats Squad in Two Parts? On TSRC

The guys discuss the call up of the first 16 by Jurgen Klinsmann for the United States Mens Team squad for the upcoming friendlies and CONCACAF qualifying. On The Straight Red Card.
I have a feeling Jurgen has a few players that are on the bubble and he’s unsure whether to bring them in or not.
Most likely it has to do with club commitments. He only listed MLS players from one club and I do not think they have a match this weekend. I don’t know all of the players commitments or MLS schedule but there is most likely a reason for the way he went about this. And maybe a part of it too is to give players a little more time with their clubs to evaluate any lingering effects from injuries that are more touch & go.
I just think it’s a stretch to think too much into it, or to think he’s trying to piss off certain players.
He called Beckerman and Rimando in already because they don’t have an MLS game this weekend. He didn’t call in Donovan because he does. He called in players that dont have club obligations this weekend. This isn’t some conspiracy to “send a message” to players like Donovan. I do understand some wishing JK just announced the full squad and let them play with the club over the weekend but its not that big of a deal he only announced those he could get this week.

but it’s not wishful thinking. It’s how things are done up to this point. You make the roster callups and announce that So-n-So will be joining the squad after X-weekend.
I personally think it’s odd, though i dont think it’s too big of a deal. Again, just odd.
Beckerman is the living proof that Jurgen do not know what he is doing….
He’s always been a big Beckerman fan.
I agree… Not sure it is that big a deal. Though it is odd. It’s usually a given that if a player has another game for his club that’ll he’ll come after that game… But it sounds like these guys are just annoyed by it because it means they can’t do a full line-up guesstimate… So, I assume there is some exaggeration going on here?
Hey, so I know this is unrelated, but I think you’ll all enjoy it. Pretty hilarious Champions League parody of Hank Williams Jr. Monday Night Football song–”Are You Ready For Some Futbol?!” http://youtu.be/rtLe3W3ACa4
Maybe he brought the Euro players to train with Klinsmann immediately, giving them more time to gel and get familiar with his tactics while the Domestics will just train lightly for match preperation? I don’t know, just a thought.
Would make sense but why not name jozy? U know he will be listed on Sunday. One has to imagine herc will be included as well. Are there really 5 more MLSers to be named? Donovan and Shea I’m guessing but anyone else? Could potentially see Boyd and adu included
Maybe he’s just buying time for ones on the bubble. The MLS obligations theory makes sense, but that doesn’t explain not naming Altidore. The Dutch season is in the books.
What I want to know is why hasn’t he publicly named his roster before they show up to camp. He’s announcing everybody after they’ve arrived. What gives? Is he expecting somebody that’s already been notified of their call-up to suddenly miss their flight and decide they’d rather stay at home after all (whose name is not Timothy Chandler, at any rate)?
All of this is a bit strange.
