Legacy: Bruce Arena vs Bob Bradley; Robbie Rogers, No Playing Time Yet at Leeds
Posted on February 15, 2012 5:35 am
The guys discuss Simon Borg’s article which urged David Beckham to make a call to the English FA and recommend Bruce Arena for the English National Team Manager spot. But wouldn’t Bob Bradley be just as good or better; or have a better shot?
Also, Robbie Rogers still looking for PT at Leeds United. When will he see the field?
And Simon Borg finally goes to the movies–and is stunned!
Having spent a couple of years in London in my young adult years… I came to learn that British sexuality is rather “interesting”… if the FA follows up Capello with another Catennacio minded coach like Bruce Arena… then it all but confirms that in football the Brits also have BDSM submissive tendencies.
If an American ever coaches England, it will probably be one that they have heard of as a player.
I agree. If Reyna or McBride ever go that route. Unfortunately, neither has really talked seriously about that being an option.
PS. Is no one excited that Simon Borg finally saw a movie?
As much as I’m rooting for Robbie Rogers to get some playing time at Leeds, it really doesn’t surprise me that he isn’t. Granted there’s an adjustment period like you guys mentioned, but I really don’t think that’s the issue with him. If my memory serves me correctly, he didn’t get any playing time in holland, barely got any with the crew until he got a call up from Klinsmann, then when he did he barely made much of an impact. So imho him not succeeding in the championship doesn’t say anything about MLS or US soccer and everything about his lack of quality. I wish him the best and hopefully he can improve his skills as well as his situation.
Well put.
To be fair to Robbie… his time at Heerenveen was when he was 18/19 years of age. He played for their reserves team and if i recall correctly, the manager was disappointed that he left (family reasons??).
At the crew he averaged about 21 games a season and you have to take into calculation that he only played 10 games his first season with the Crew. Now that’s not noting how many minutes each season he played, 21 games could equal 21 minutes if he was a late sub each game
He may very well fall on his face, but he’s young and has the time to do such. I agree with you that it doesnt say anything about MLS or USMN as there have been a number of players who failed in the Championship from a number of countries. While those countries may have been deeper in depth to where they wouldnt get a sniff of the National team, the US isnt. However, it’s pretty apparent that fans acknowledge that Robbie shouldnt be on the USMN as he’s far down the pool.
I have a rule:
When the name “Simon Borg” is connected with something, it represents proof of rampant stupidity.
Ka-pow!
