Yeah, I'd love to spend a weekend in LA, but it's the get-to-the-bus fare that would be a killer. Cheers, W.

Edwin--best pic from the USA/Japan game... hard to believe that was almost 4 years ago...

I should also call that "my other house" since I tend to frequent that stadium as much as Buck Shaw LOL... alright...

      Edwin,
Sure do. You did a great job with that one.

I got some clever ideas--the only issue with sport is copyrights. Lucky my topic range also covers the arts, culture, and so forth.

Plus I always get the least expensive seats--figure that it's more fun there anyway. I couldn't get season tickets to the women but then again I'm glad that I didn't. I wouldn't go on the pitch unless (1) it's a professional gig and/or (2) I have the season tix to compliment. It was enough with basketball back in the day--not getting paid on time, dealing with egos, and so forth.

(and there was no internet then!)

As the line goes--resiliency goes a long way.

      Napster,
Yes around the end of this month or the beginning of next. Nothing set yet. I won't be there for the entire season, but I do intend to see the first couple months.

Hey W-san, heading back to the Bay Area for the 2009 season? We need to reunite all the usual suspects even if we don't have a tailgate hangout. OK cheers Y2K9!

That might be the Quakes2.0 style. Keep everything regarding transactions close to the vest. Just look at what they did last transfer window. I don't think anyone had any idea of what they were doing other than pursuing Hucks. I'm still shocked that we got 3 forwards almost signed.

Plus, The Don has a better chance with WildKate! :D Though he's going to keep bugging me about that!

I can tell you that she does not have a tattoo on her lower back... :D If that was the case and then some that stuff would be all over the internet, making VeRo's pants look pale in comparison.

Actually she's covering the other San Jose team right now.

      oh, and more.

Well, one thing that I like about her (in addition to her large rack) is that she always seems very well-informed and asks sensible, core questions.

The new Veronica Paysee, but very Anglocized! :D

(by the way, she does NOT have a tattoo on her lower back, in which case could add to the bigsoccer legend, much like Grown Ass Man!)

      OH YEAH!

Nap, I think you're right. He definitely did not last beyond Lothar. I do remember Lothar saying how he hated to get rid of him because he (Martinez) was dedicated to the game and was getting some salary that was outrageous but, of course, didn't say anything about his skill level.

Lothar finally got rid of Joey if I remember right.

A lot offline Wayne... Well, the US took a dive in the Olympics--both the men and women. Too bad about the Dutch--had they won that game and/or tied Nigeria who knows?

Ronaldinho getting a gold medal for Brazil? Hey it's high time they did... OK late... Napster

(oh and myspace really sucks! :D)

      Nap,
Everything good. I am looking forward to seeing this NE game. Too bad about the US men's team in the Olympics. I have decided to take on the August heat head first (well not, really, but...) and am getting up so I can do the morning jog. That means getting up earlier because that Lucky Old Sun is up there pretty high by 6 a.m. here. We'll see how that goes.
Is that your job that is keeping you that busy?
      Take care now.

How's Japan treating you eh Wayne? I'm just way too busy to be on the boards nowadays.

I wasn't getting too much sleep last night anyway (Japanese summer is fast approaching if it's not here already) and that means a lot warmer nights than what I'm used to. Watched the game, with some disappointment, but, oh, well, kind of used to that. Something Dayak said about how an expansion team is really something tough to put together and get wins that made me take it with more grains of salt than usual.

Well, if the folks with the Seattle Sounders FC could wave a wad of cash and jostle some influence from the Seattle Mariners then hmmm... ;)

Henry seems to be a better sell coming here... hang with the French hoopster with the American sounding name... :p

One of those times--I'd tell you what his secret identity is but if I do, I might have to do something to you eh--then again, fool her heh heh... :D

Know if the Quakes can bring Nakata out of retirement? ;)
