Thanks! It was a fantastic run and so fun after some of our previous years! Seimone Augustus was absolutely dynamite now that she's healthy and her new defensive intensity helped her achieve that level of play we always knew was in her. We seem to have a good young core so hopefully we can continue to compete in the playoffs in the coming years.

Angel McCoughtry's a great talent though and a team, much less an expansion team with only four years of existence, making it to the finals two times is very impressive. Should be some great battling games in the future.

Well, how much is there to say about the CEO? (Admittedly, the logo thread is pretty lame, though.)

Thanks for the props for the comments in the "Diversity" thread.

Just saw your comment on my homepage. Thanks! I'm trying to be constructive, but I don't see how blind enthusiasm contributes to a better season (or more entertaining thread). I appreciated your support as I am always nervous when I get critical of anything Tarheel... I really enjoy your posts!

Thanks. I was sorta half-joking and half-serious at the same time (if that makes any sense).

Hah. I'm actually a Lynx fan not a Dream fan. (I know it says Atlanta Beat is my club but I thought I had to choose a club and I couldn't find Western New York Flash...) That being said, I think the WNBA seems to have a bigger interest pool to draw upon and have a fair amount of history at 15 years running despite its ups and downs. I do think that the WPS could stand to be a bit more proactive at marketing their sport and games but maybe this WC run will help spur interest in the WPS.

But we agree that someone is physically restraining her for her not to start Mitts, right?

Let's just say I'll be able to afford a whole herd of those jokers before I EVER cheer on the U.S. But thanks for asking. :D :p

What about a small pony? Can I have a small pony? With little clippity-clop feet and a big, bushy mane?

ah, no i get it. He he, well, i guess some girls just got exited about a glamor couple on the team. If anything, i'd think dating a team mate might be a bad idea...going through a breakup is bad enough...imagine having to have to pass to that person? It'll be a festival of bad crosses.

I got it, thanks. I really don't care if she is or isn't. If anything, more power to them if they are. I think lesbians, specially young ones need good role models like these girls.

Sorry if I offended you with any of the comments, not my intention. I was just posting what i read. I think the outsport.com message board is where i saw it. If anything, i kind of have a soft spot for gay causes. One of my uncles is gay and basically saw him suffer for years because he was closeted. It pretty much ruined his life at times and didn't really see him happy till he came to terms and came out. If you ever seen that, it's hard to hate anyone for just being how god made them.

I was just watching some Tarpley highlights and can understand why she's missed.

I just read the breakdown thread which described each of our players and feel I have a much better understanding of what to expect from the players in this cycle.

Anyway, thanks for being welcoming, I appreciate it!

I can't say I'm that knowledgeable re: the wnba. I tend to watch more college ball, but this year plan on following wnba more. Your comparison/ideas thread idea sounds great if there are enough people to discuss it. And lets face it, come later next year we might be needing additional topics to discuss if things don't look so peachy.

Meant to add - ever notice that SOL kept popping up in your head as Shit Outta Luck, and then when people say CRS it's Can't Remember Shit?

Not trashing the teams, but man, those damn names/acronyms. :o

It's always a blow to lose a team, but I really think Chicago has a shot at turning the year hiatus into a positive. They have a good fanbase and a great relationship with their community.
