i want new cd's to come out! i wish franz ferdinand, the shins, and bloc party would release new albums.
i was watching mtv and it said they are going to re-release silent alarm and that they have like 25 tracks from the studio. i don't think they'll be on the re-release though. did anyone else hear that?
Is this what you were referring to? http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/record-reviews/b/bloc-party/silent-alarm-remixed.shtml
I just watched a couple of Sleater-Kinney videos on their website. Have these ever actually been aired on MTV2 or anything? Also, why aren't they the biggest band in the world right now?
Bloc Party album should, uh, drop sometime this fall. I like the first single, "Two More Years" okay. Not spectacular but I like it much better than Franz's new single.
I just love this song. When I am sixty-four by Beatles When I get older losing my hair, Many years from now. Will you still be sending me a Valentine Birthday greetings bottle of wine. If I’d been out till quarter to three Would you lock the door. Will you still need me, will you still feed me, When I’m sixty-four. You’ll be older too, And if you say the word, I could stay with you. I could be handy, mending a fuse When your lights have gone. You can knit a sweater by the fireside Sunday morning go for a ride. Doing the garden, digging the weeds, Who could ask for more. Will you still need me, will you still feed me, When I’m sixty-four. Every summer we can rent a cottage, In the Isle of Wright, if it’s not too dear We shall scrimp and save Grandchildren on your knee Vera Chuck & Dave Send me a postcard, drop me a line, Stating point of view Indicate precisely what you mean to say Yours sincerely, wasting away Give me your answer, fill in a form Mine for evermore. Will you still need me, will you still feed me When I’m sixty-four.
Dunno, but it could be that to some people, I hear, the singing sounds like a warbling goat. Just sayin'.
That could have something to do with it. But this guy would rather hear Corin Tucker's wail than Beyonce's histrionics or Joss Stone's affectations 7 out of 7 days per week.
Here's an interesting article on the finances of playing in small clubs: http://www.flagpole.com/articles.php?fp=5565
Nice article. I remember touring and gas was a measely 98 cents a gallon. We would fret over what not to eat, everyone had radar tuned to the word "free". We would get ourselves into strange situations just get a snag at some free food or beer. I really feel sorry for those venturing out this fall for tours with gas the way it is. Anyone who is seeing a touring band soon, please buy something of theirs. Most bands make money from the merch they have to sell.
I think Pints, MeridianFC and Unorthodox Yank should form the house band for BigSoccer and play the night before all US National team matches.
Hear, hear. I'm also coming out of the closet as someone who "should" like Sleater-Kinney, but just doesn't.
