Hell yeah. This quote gave me chills. You can see the team spirit at Fulham now...I daresay McBride kept Boa Morte and Malbranque from wandering away over the summer, just on the force of his personality.

The ball goes into him, he doesn't lose it. That's incredibly difficult, a point of his game that he has over Twellman and Cunningham from years of international play. His headers give Radzinski and the midfielders a chance to run off of him and start chances.

You could see how determined he was, even shaking hands after the game, all business. He knows Fulham has a hill to climb this year, and he's taking on the responsibility. He looks like Schwarzenagger at the end of the Terminator, with his skin about to peel off from the battering and abuse.

He came really close to a second goal, only to be saved by Yobo's split-second intervention. You could watch McBride taking the split second to find the corner of the goal, to measure his shot. He's become a clinical finisher since the lucky dribbler against Iran in '98. Remember him crossing himself and thanking God?

McBride, fighting McBride. He *will* forment a team spirit, build confidence in the back 4, win games for Fulham and keep them in the Premiership. Inspirational.

McBride may be the one YA that we can hype up for hours, and assume he'll live up to alot of the **************** that comes out of our mouths.

16 goals? Maybe not... but, everything else? Alright...

Agreed. A half dozen is more realistic.

I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed your private message in which you threaten to beat me up. Classic.

And my point was that having england caps does not make one quality. Much in the same way having US caps doesn't.

    Please don't hurt me, hammer!

It looked to me that Boca's basic assignment in the Everton game was to man-mark Bent out of the match, which he did very well. He was solid.

    Where's Con-vay on the list??? :D

He had six all season last year in the EPL. That was what I was referring to.

Did you just make numbers up? Pull them out of thin air?

    62 MLS Goals
    29 National Team Goals
24 Fulham 16 & Everton 8 (the Everton total seems high to me here is where I got it)
    http://www.4thegame.com/club/fulham-fc/player-profile/3795/brianmcbride.html
    Total=115

I'm all for a liberal posting policy on BS but even I think it's time for someone in this thread to be booted back to world rivalries.

Boca article, dated Thursday Sept. 1. Nothing groundbreaking. Apparently he's not 100% yet.

And if someone pro-rated mcB's English goals against Heskey's minutes, and less tangible, his experience in the league, I wonder how that comparison would look? Far as being called up to the English side meaning anything, two words--Zat Knight.

Predicted McBride could realistically score 6 goals in all competitions this season and then got angry when mere yanks disagreed with him.

    Who looks the fool now?

In fairness, he looked the fool then, now and at all other times.

I'm glad someone dug up this thread. I forgot the over/under. I'm still sticking with under 17 (it'll be close), although as I also commented, I'm happy either way (for if I lose the bet, I'll be happy Mac had such a great season). :)
