Ah, on your monitor, right? I just watched some old World Cup games and they looked fine ... not sure why MLS is going film noir on us.
No.. The adjustment on the player.. Perhaps I'm not having the same problem others do but it's almost always too dark even though my monitor is adjusted properly but I simply use the player controls to adjust it..
There is Hertz and then there is not exactly. Jose mix-matched the line ups. He played first team starters in both halves. In fact i wouldn't say the second half team was much less in quality than the first half team...i mean hell they did bring Robben, Crespo and Lampard on at half time. Your right about the result not mattering, but like i said in another forum..its the performance that matters not the scoreline. MLS teams played 3 of the ELITE teams in the world and played well, especially Chicago. Sure its their preseaon and things aren't as intense but i was watching how the players adjusted to the pressure, the style of play and their tactical organization nad speed of play...all those things were encouraging that perhaps MLS isn't as bad as their reputation on these boards...in fact i think MLS is a good legaue and in time will eventually start to win some of these international compotitions and be regarded as a strong cometitive (not parity) league that showcases some quality soccer week in and week out.
MLSnet's omission of Cabellero's shot that clanged off the crossbar in the highlights package was disappointing...
Belatedly, I want to congratulate the Fire on a hard-fought, well-played match. Good job--all of MLS benefits when one of ours does well in a game like that.
Gotcha. Thanks. I did it. It works reasonably well. Now let's work MLS on making sure the sound is not ahead of the video....
Gotta tip my hat to the Chicago boys. I live in a neighborhood where most of the soccer fans are either of the South American or Eurosnob variety and they have all said the same thing to me about being surprised and impressed with the quality of the Fire and MLS.
I have been out of the loop for most of July due to my wedding, honeymoon, etc. but the Fire and DC friendlies against AC Milan and Chelsea were one of the all-time great MLS highlights for me! As the other posters and articles written have indicated, the Fire and DC have made all of us American soccer fans very, very proud with their outstanding performances against two of the top clubs in the world. The Galaxy's performance against Real Madrid was also respectable but perhaps they were at a disadvantage being the first MLS club to go against a "superclub". I feel that the Fire and DC watched the Galaxy game and concluded that they should go after their opponents early on, which they both did, to great success. I usually don't scream for MLS goals, but I did after Boswell's header against Chelsea and I would have for Rolfe's strike, but GOL TV missed it! One question: on that night at Soldier Field, were the majority of fans for the Fire or Milan?
MCF - from where i was sitting, the majority of the Fans were for Milan, but dont you worry - we let those bastids hear us roar with every opportunity. I wore my Liverpool shirt just to let them know that anything could happen.
Yes, granted, but John Terry and Damien Duff were "getting stuck in." Not so much of that in the second half after they came off. (Although, I have to grant, I lost some of the game because my power went out. Big rainstorm here that night.)
As I was walking back the the parking lot there were a couple of young Milan fans behind me chanting over and over again. My buddy and I, despite not being Liverpool fans, managed to belt out a couple lines from "You'll Never Walk Alone" repeatedly till we reached our car.
