A certain European big club might facilitated this transfer as a stepping stone for him before Wakatsuki joining them if he succeeded in Switzerland. By the way, the 3-letters abbreviation of Switzerland is written like this “SUI”.

He made his debut today, coming in as a second half substitute in the 61st minute, as his team lost the match 0-2.
Yes I watched it, not much happened. He was lively with his movement, unfortunately didn't get the ball much. Near the end he had a smart through pass from the right flank though.
Sion escaped relegation and that's great, but Wakatsuki played one game and made the bench twice so far. His agent better check Sion's intentions for the next season carefully. Yes, he's a 2002 blah blah so it's likely he would've featured only in the Levin Cup with Shonan anyway, but it's important the next year isn't wasted.
New coach (Fabio Grosso) but not on the bench on the first game. Rather annoying. I checkhed and he's been playing with Sion II. Either way his agent is a relatively big one, so curious to see how this goes on.
It slipped under the radar but Wakatsuki actually started playing. He's already played all the second half against Vaduz and 15' against Luzern. Hopefully more to come.

Wakatsuki almost scored a goal yesterday, which would have Sion going 0-2 up and secure then win, but his shot hit the post. Few minutes later, one of Sion's defenders was sent off, and the coach subbed out Wakatsuki for a defeder. Later, Sion conceded the equaliser and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Here is a highlight video with Wakatsuki's attempt:
the one shooting is actually his teammate, but still it's a nice trap. He's bulked up quite a bit, btw.
Hmm. There are some good, if not great, moments, but he needs to stay up. A classic with japanese players, however considering the time he's been in Europe, he needs to change that quickly.
They will play against Nikki Havenaar's FC Thun. Wakatsuki is playing on-loan at FC Sion from Shonan Bellmare until January 2022. Even if Sion will be relegated they will be favorites to be promoted and Wakatsuki might get more playing time as players with high wages may leave the team.
It was announced as a 2-years loan deal in FC Sion's official website when they signed him: https://www.fc-sion.ch/fr/news/deta...is-yamato-wakatsuki-prete-deux-ans-au-fc-sion
