I think I remember Hunt or someone in the FCD FO saying no more hoops because they didn't sell and they felt going away from that would boost jersey sales. I can't imagine sales went up in any magnitude that was worth losing an iconic/unique look.
Monochrome IS boring. Zzzzzzzzzz I thought word was RSL was going with blue shorts with their red shirts this year. (Which would not only look better, but also distinguish them from all the other red shirt clubs.) I don’t think the Rapids in all burgundy is a good look. And New England has looked sharp in the navy shirts and white shorts. Is that going away?
Alright alright alright... here’s what @ATLUTD’s new change kit will look like. Replica kit shown in these images. Authentic will have a silver star. I hear you. The Dynamo had worn orange shirts, white shorts, and orange socks for the vast majority of their games, home and away, for the first 13 years. A few years ago they went to the all-black secondary kit but they didn't wear it all that much so I was OK with that since they kept the orange-white-orange for most games. In 2019 they went to the all-orange primary and wore it for 30 games. The orange-white-orange went away completely. I was very sad.
Eh, at least you know who you're watching when the game comes on. I'm biased though, I thought those kits where fine - it was when they wore the gold shirt with the gold shorts (so the monochrome version, not surprisingly) where things got a little weird looking.
A lot of Union fans didn’t like the gold jersey, but I though it looked good with the blue shorts. Wish they’d bring it back.
That's a much better look. And yeah, I get that I'm in the minority in liking those early kits, especially compared to the fans that had to cheer for the dudes wearing them, but to me, other than monochrome gold, all of the other combos looked good. Even the mono-navy had the gold stripe going through the jersey to break up the monotony of it. Way better look imho than an all navy strip with a snake that hardly anyone will be able to see on TV or from the stands on the jersey.
I don't dislike monochrome, I just don't like everyone using it. And I don't like the Rapids (or the Houston Dynamo) wearing it when traditionally they don't. And it does not look better on either of them.
So this is mislabeled. The one labeled San Jose is Montreal and the one labeled Chicago is San Jose. But otherwise, here are the cuts from the MLS promo video via reddit.
This picture is circulating on Instagram of what is “assumed” to be our brand-new jersey for this season. Thoughts ? #VWFC pic.twitter.com/HqfA8qBLey— Couch Ultras 🛋 (@CouchUltras) January 28, 2020 crest doesn't match the teaser the team put out a while back, but that could be the lighting.

If you look at the adidas logo, it looks like it's actually blue. Either we got some really good Chinese/Thai fakes coming in this season or the photo is just a little washed out.
Maybe the whole league is wearing fakes. Everyone having the same three stripes on the sleeve is just wrong.
I think "San Jose city flag" is what they're going for officially. Colors look closer to SJ State than the OG Clash unis.
