Not sure about Draxler, but Reus survived by actually playing well for the National team. Hence why he was voted National Player of the Year. The real problem and has been for a while is how Germany deal with the transition.

The fact that he stayed healthy long enough to get POY is astounding

Well he was easily the best player in the Bundesliga and I think easily one of the top 5 players in the world. This year his form has been average and we are suffering for it. Let's see how the German players do in the CL. To be competitive at the highest level of international football, you need players regularly going deep into the CL. Not enough German players have high level CL experience. They are unused to the intensity required.

England are winning easily and Sancho is about to come on. We are 3-0 up.

Germany lack the intensity of N. Ireland and could easily be losing. Brandt and Reus are not quite at their sharpest. I think we definitely did not have enough preseason games. Hopefully this means we will have more in the tank come the end of the season.

Gnabry and Werner have been poor. Kroos is the best German player.

Gnabry stepped up in the end and had a great match. Werner was poor, but I think he puts too much pressure on himself. I am glad Brandt got 90 minutes.

I would love to see us play the same formation German did. Reus is still not at his best, but it showed Brandt and Reus can play together in the attacking three. Brandt, Reus and Sancho is such an excellent attacking three.

Kroos is really growing into a leader of the team. Germany need to be more clinical. Tah looked better than Ginter when he came on.

Kroos looks lazy. He plays with the same intensity for RM...almost zero.

Lewandowski seems unstoppable this year. I am not sure there is anyone playing better than him in the world.

Barcelona were very poor and lost easily today. They did rest some players, but this should put our draw against them in perspective.

I didn't watch Inter, but I see they won the Milan derby, we need to respect them.

Leipzig look very strong too. They won easily away to Bremen and it looks like it will be a three horse race. We need to get the points tomorrow.

Watched Rosenborg Trondheim (No) against PSV yesterday. Rosenborg is about the same in Norway as Slavia is in Czechia. PSV got a comfortable 3:0 lead in the first half and then only controlling the game in the 2. (ended (1:4). That must be much more relaxing way of playing than we recently do.
Arsenal played yesterday with a “new”, young and hungry team and smashed Standard Liege 4:0. That also could be something to learn from ...

Both Ajax centrebacks sent off when they are winning 4-2 and Chelsea gets a penalty from the advantage played following the first foul. Nice job ref.

It would be great if Wenger coaches Bayern and brings with him the mental weakness of his Arsenal teams.

Wenger isn't considered anymore. It'll be Flick for the near future unless Bayern has a nightmare against us. I hope they don't get Rangnick.

Pretty sure Rangnick declined unless that was just for immediate consideration.

Gladbach wins against Bayern. I still think Bayern remains the favorite for the title but with Gladbach 5 points in front of us, I would have preferred a draw.

Leipzig by far looks like the most dominant team at the moment, they are winning so easily..

just watched the gladbach-bayern highlights.. so many fouls! what the hell?

yeah.. i'd still prefer bayern to be as far back as possible, so that our players have a tad bit more belief chasing gladbach

Bayern is crushing Schalke, can’t see anybody stopping them now. Pity for all those points we dropped in hinrunde.

I dont see us near title this year, i dont think that is realistic.. We have to many problems at the pitch and the biggest on the bench.
16 games ahead of us, i am guessing we have to win aprox more than 10-11 for the title, with Lukasz, Akanji in the defence and Favre on the bench, im afraid guys that is pure utopia...

It is disappointing that there are no reinforcements in back. The back line is not Champions League quality, no matter who is healthy, and is one injury away from risking Champions League qualification for next year. It is clear that Favre doesn't think Balerdi or Morey is ready, even against Koln, let alone a tougher opponent. I am going to believe that he is right, I don't think defenders are super hard to evaluate for their defensive ability: "is he making good defensive decisions in practice?". Attacking qualities are harder to evaluate, so if you are trying to decide whether Hakimi's attacking ability is worth what you give up defensively, that is a coaching decision that is easier to disagree with. But if, after a bad showing and knowing Koln is the opponent, Piszczek is still judged to be better? I think that says we need a transfer and send one of the kids on loan to get game time.

More rumors of Sane to Bayern. He would greatly improve them. We must improve too!

Maybe due to the corona and the price dips in the transfer market, dortmund can hold on to Sancho for another year until prices rebound. They'll get a depressed price if they sell this summer, so even though his contract will only have a year to go, it will be comparable to any price they would get this summer or whenever this season could get them. It will b good to see the club keep Sancho for another season.
