Personally I don't rate him and haven't put too much stock into the performances I've seen. He's no doubt carved out a starting role with the u20's but the USMNT is a stretch. Until I really see him having better control of the ball, running at defenders, better interplay with teammates I wont move him into the top tier prospect list. I would start him over Zardes but I would start anyone on here over Zardes as well. I don't think anyone is excited about Roldan or Zardes outside of Crew or Sounders fans. I'm no doubt excited for him but I don't think the hype train should be rolling quite yet.
He's maturing before our very eyes, at light speed. Can time travel be far behind? Who's to say he won't be an '00 before the day is out?

I haven't watched any of the games, but it seems like Mendez is picking up a bit...getting more minutes/starts and getting on the score sheet. I'm a bit of Mendez skeptic, but I'm happy to see that he seems to be progressing (whether or not it's enough to stick at Ajax is a different story).
Was only 15 minutes in a lost cause but good to see Weston McKennie back and good to go today.— The Yanks Are Coming (@YanksAreComing) January 25, 2020
Per scuffed on Tyler Adams from Gregg's conference call today. Summarized quote from Gregg "we've played him at right back before but we primarily see him as a central midfielder, we always have."
What's our depth chart at RB in a parallel universe with Adams at CM and Dest playing for the Netherlands?
The statement that they've always seen him as a RB is definitely not true but what matters is he sees him as a 6 now. The important thing is that a LB emerges and Sargent regains his confidence and we'll have a pretty solid lineup.
That's a lot of question marks, and I'm not sure how it matches with Berhalter's vision of things. But it also illustrates just how important Cannon's emergence has been from a MNT perspective.
I agree. A LB has emerged, but will he get a run of camps? More are on the way. Jozy was a fine striker for the USMNT during many years when he was doing even less than Sargent is now. So, we will probably be fine with Sargent even now. People are too impatient. I think one of those was Gregg, who thought Jozy and Sargent were the answer and never looked for any real alternatives. There were and are non-Zardes options and he simply ignored them.
Any position on the depth chart has a lot of question marks when you go past 2 or 3. Dest was the starting LB on the U17WC and starting RB on the last U20WC, he was part of the pool when Gregg was hired. That we might have lost him, would have been a loss. He was not found in October. Adams at RB was never about Adams or the depth at RB. Yedlin, Dest, Moore, Cannon, Chandler is actually one of the deepest positions this time last year. Lima, Cannon, Herrera, are three more. Adams at RB was about having Trapp/Bradley at the 6. That Gregg says he always viewed Adams as a CM either means as an 8 or that 2019 from January to October didn't happen. Adams was replaced on the Gold Cup roster by Cannon, not a CM.
I'd just like to make clear that I'm not here for the Berhalter/Adams debate, though of course I wouldn't dream of telling you what to post about. (My statement about Berhalter's "vision of things" was more in reference to the German-American veterans. I'd love to know more details about his relationship with those guys.) Anyway, I am off-topic and I apologize.
Richie Ledezma's chance at PSV is opening. Steven Bergwijn to Tottenham is official. PSV have only played 2 players at the 10 this season and have just sold one of them. If there is a time for Richie to break into the PSV first team its now.
Gloster is an interesting one. Who knows what’s next for him but he is certainly kinda under the radar.
Reports are that Wigan have rejected a $7 million bid for Robinson from AC Milan. Could be the end or just the start of negotiation or a rumor. Supposedly Lyon are getting involved. If this is all agent PR, it is a great job of it. Hard to imagine Wigan would not want to sell at these prices. CCV is going on loan to Luton Town. He is becoming an "pool CB" for the Championship. Spurs should just sell him to somebody.
The issue with Wigan is probably their position in the table. They're in danger of relegation from the Championship. So if they're going to sell a player like Robinson, they damn well better have a replacement ready immediately. CCV is just being passed around by the bad Championship teams. Luton is THE WORST team in the Championship. CB on this Olympic team is looking murky. Three years ago we were talking about the absolute glut of CB prospects we had in this age group, and essentially none have advanced past an MLS or MLS-level league yet. The biggest disapointment for me is Palmer-Brown who I thought would be playing at a much higher level than the Austrian League at this point.
Austrian League is significantly better than MLS, IMO. EPB has had a good season. We all would've preferred that he didn't sign with Man City, but the criticism this guy gets he doesn't deserve.
