Few notes I've read over the last week or so...

    - Dani Ceballos is looking to end his loan with us and seek out a new club where he will be guaranteed playing time.
    - Lyon is rumored to have agreed a 21m GBP transfer for supposed Arsenal MF target Bruno Guimaraes.
    - We are rumored to still be seeking a loan deal for Jerome Boateng.
    - We are planning to pursue Dayot Upamecano in the summer because Leipzig's demands for a Jan deal are too high. It is said that his release clause will drop to 50-55m GBP in the summer and we may be able to get him for less given his expiring contract. Guendouzi is said to be attempting to recruit him to Arsenal.
    - We are said to have agreed a contract with LB Layvin Kurzawa. PSG has supposedly told us that if we want him in Jan it will cost us 4-5m GBP.
    - We are rumored to be looking at Shakhtar CB
Mykola Matviyenko whom was being tracked by Man City last summer.

So this is what we have been talking about.

We are in a hole, so we will need to trade out of it, not just buy.

This is why I would sell 2 of Xhaka, Laca and Hector. We need the money to reinvest in younger assets whose value can go up.

Auba i dunno about selling as his goals are so crucial, but at that age, i guess its on the table for the right money. I would sell Laca no matter what.

    Upamecano is a Bayern target.

According to Bild, Bayern stupidly passed on him and may be looking to correct that mistake

Ok. From what I've read, I think he is interested in trying a new league. Plus, he would have a significantly better chance at early playing time with Arsenal along with playing with some other young friends/countrymen.

I said at the time I was sceptical the Ceballos loan would work.

The problem is, we don't own him so we won't invest in him and we can't afford to buy him.

Plus why would he be bothered with Arsenal when he knows he is leaving soon. The injury was rotten luck of course.

Wanted the deal to work and hoped we could eventually convince him to push for a full transfer but I honestly question if he is what Arteta needs/wants in MF. He isn't defensive enough to be part of the 2-man base and not quite the right fit to play in Ozil's spot.

Also, agree that the injury hurt things. At this point it is more beneficial to get Duezy/Willock time vs trying to figure out how Dani best fits.

    Which was the predictable problem

Unless Ceballos was break out amaze, we were always more likely to focus on the players we own

Any truth to this. If he wants out and Barca takes him no were so royally screwed.

Ceballos isn't good he thinks way to highly of himself there is a reason Zidane had no use for him. He can't play in a 2 man pivot he isn't a 10 crap he isnt even a decent baller carrying CM. He is technical on the ball but can't do nothing with it. He won't be missed, had one good game vs Burnely people overreacted and got destroyed by Pool and never really recovered. Good riddance Dani.

Defientely true.. people say they want the $$ but where will our goals come from? Literally without him and his goals were a relegation team. Sure were 10th with him but that's not his fault at all.

Would prefer to keep PEA for the rest of the season but if the money is right and we use it for CB & LW (scoring and/or creative winger) I think we can make due with Laca, Nketiah & Martinelli at ST.

Also, I'm not seeing anything about a deal actually being done. Just claims that PEA would be open to a move if Barca decided to pursue. Last I read, Barca was heavily considering paying the release clause (€100m) for Lautaro Martinez.

I’m cool I if they pay us 100 mil for auba on a 6 month loan with the option to buy at the end of the season

Never seen a more one footed player.
People always say that. Look at Chelsea. They lost Hazard who was involved in something like 50% of their goals. Yet they push on and are essentially in the same league position as last season and have actually created more XG.

True, Auba is a goal machine, but if we are rebuilding we need the money more than his goals. We have Pepe, Martinelli, Laca, Eddie for next season. Invest in CM, CB, and put ozil out to pasture. May take another season of the doldrums but we recoup money where we can.

I suspect we are just going to suck up a 6-10th place finish and not get anyone

We should not buy the PSG fullback unless we are selling Kola
