I missed the debate, but one of the students who wants to discuss politics with me told me not to go back and watch any of the debate...any of it. Because the questions were so horrible. It says a lot that a high school student is talking how about bad the questions were.

Bernie was saying over 30 years ago that a woman could be a president:

30 years ago, Warren was a Republican....

Sanders is keeping it competitive in Nevada.

If he does pull off Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada (a bit harder) he could be sitting very pretty come Super Tuesday.

The question would be, can he go all Trump and win or Democrats will be better able to stop him than the Republicans were?

Yes, I think it’s possible that ideologically they may think it’s a good idea, but in practical terms they are just playing to their leftist base, they have to be smart enough to know that it would be impossible to get congress to pass it.

I’m sure any intelligent and well meaning candidate, even a hard core progressive, realizes that if they win it would be better to spend your political capital on more important issues, like providing health care for those who really need it, restoring our damaged democratic institutions, and of course dealing with the environmental crisis. Spending your political efforts on trying to get rid of private health insurance at this point would be idiotic, like chasing after windmills.

Not Sanders, this is a crusade, he will spend lots of political capital trying to get Medicare for all, this will be his wall at the border thing.

Warren, I can see her doing other things as you say.

And 30 years ago, I was some shit-for-brains college freshman whose first semester tuition and fees were under $500. Lots of things done changed since then.

I don’t understand how people seriously think that pointing out Warren’s party registration back in Ye Olden Days is some sort of brilliant rhetorical device.

Yep. Strange Democrat -- he wanted lower taxes, in favor the death penalty, and wasn't much for minorities and women's rights. I think he wasn't really political back then, he was a Dem because most New Yorkers were. I mean, it would be a strange party for him to have joined if he thought much about it.

Yes, but grabbing women by the p*ssy, dozens of sexual assault allegations, decades of fraud, lawsuits, ... Easily recoverable.

Of course, Trump NEVER eats salad.

However, HE ATE PIZZA WITH A FORK AND KNIFE.
    How did he ever recover?

Except Medicare for All would be a long term net positive for the nation.

The "wall at the border thing" is a racist trope and nothing more.

Keep the false equivalents out of here.

If you mean a campaign promise that is likely not to happen during one's presidency, then you are on to something.

That may be, but in no book is a pussy grabbing, "she is too ugly for me to have raped her" guy on the side of "women's rights."

Of course, but I do not equate the right to choose with "women's rights."

It is both larger (it is the essence of the right to privacy as implied, though not explicitly stated in the Constitution) and is a component of women's rights (which extends to pay equity, opportunity equity, respect, etc.).

One can be pro choice and still be a misogynistic asshole. See Donald J Trump from the 1980's to about 2014.

One can be anti choice (it is NOT 'pro life') and a misogynistic asshole. See Donald J Trump circa 2014-Present

    Some polling from last weekend.

National Biden up by a lot (SurveyUSA seems to be a bit of an outliyer IMO, they are the ones that tend to have Trump doing better than other polls, then again, maybe they are right and eveyone else is wrong).

    Biden 32%, Sanders 21%

    http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReport.aspx?g=b4747822-277e-4d2c-b896-eb4e04672c09

In New Hampshire, Sanders still above the margin of error with 23% over Major Pete 18%

Warren and Biden are in risk of missing the 15% cut off (does NH also do a 15% cut off?)

Am I the only nerd keeping up with new polling?

I am surprised BernieBros have not flooded this thread with the new CNN poll.

Perhaps they just hate CNN so much that they can not post links to something favorable to Sanders from CNN, it may burst their Media hates Bernie bubble.

Bernie has made a lot of inroads with the black vote and the Hispanic vote.

If he wins Iowa, NH and perhaps Nevada, I could see him make a run for 1st in South Carolina if the black vote starts to abandon a sinking ship Biden.

Perhaps this is why Clinton came out with her attack, maybe she has access to similar internal polling numbers showing Sanders moving ahead of Biden.

I guess we will know for sure if panic sets in the democratic party is Obama comes out to endorse Bidden or attack Sanders.

Looking at 538 numbers, the Sanders upswing in the last week, seem to be coming from Warrens fall.

She did pick up an endorsement by the Des Moines Register in Iowa.
