https://www.starsandstripesfc.com/2...ns-league-moves-from-havana-to-cayman-islands “Cuba’s national stadium is undergoing construction and will be unavailable for the date the match is scheduled.”
When I turned the game in I was pleasantly surprised to hear that they were playing in the Caymen Islands. My thinking was that they would get a better field. Nope. That field was atrocious. I saw many players lose their footing due to the turf sliding out from under them. I'm surprised no one blew out an ankle - especially with the late come-from-behind tackles by Cuba. Or maybe the lose turf helped... In any case it did slow down the game and every rolling pass ended up bouncing into the air at some point.
Now go to the FIFA website and look up how much GOAL development money, in addition to their yearly $1million stipend, they have received lately and see if you can figure out where it all went. Of course we could ask the immediate past President of the Cayman Islsnds FA but hes under house arrest at his $10 million mansion in Atlanta awaiting sentencing on 30 counts of bribery, fraud and embezzlement Of course the logical place to hold the game would have been the stadium attached to the CONCACSF Center of Excellence, which FIFA paid $ 25 million to build, but Jack Warner stole it and it's now used for flea markets. Because nothing changes in CONCACAF.
McKennie is out until February. Looks like it was a separated shoulder or dislocated shoulder--he fell oddly after a challenge in the air.
Ugh. Adams os just coming back from his injury, and now McKennie goes down. At least he won’t miss much of the Bundesliga season since they’ll be on winter break.
https://www.si.com/soccer/2019/12/30/usmnt-january-camp-squad-roster-qatar-berhalter Trapp falls off the call-up rotation while Zardes remains. I think this means we probably won't see a lot of missed Crew games for international duty in 2020, at least for the USMNT. Trapp and Zardes won't bring a lot to the USMNT besides complete buy-in to the Berhalter system but both are surpassed talent wise by a bunch of youngsters.

Fortunately USSF is "working with Qatar officials" to reschedule the camp so that the players and staff -including, no doubt, 95% of Soccer House employees - can "experience Qatars world class facilities and hospitality"
It's in Chicago.... In other news, we got drawn with Mexico and Costa Rica in our Olympic Qualifying group. The other group is somewhat easier.
Brian McBride has been named MNT GM. 📰 | @ussoccer has appointed three-time World Cup veteran Brian McBride as General Manager of the #USMNT. Details » https://t.co/MVD2WYbIT2— U.S. Soccer Men's National Team (@USMNT) January 10, 2020
I mean, I'm happy for Brian and all. But are ex-players really the best people for these rolls? Seems like it's almost a prerequisite.
Funny. I tried to make that same argument when Wynalda and Martino and Hope Solo were running for USSF President, and I got shouted down for it.
