    Zidane played with 5 midfielders and not 1, but 2 AM's behind a #9.

We're talking about a formation that James would outperform anyone in the world on any given day. The type of formation people say is arcane and nobody uses anymore, which is the real explanation for what has happened to James.

James with the KFC behind him would be a monster, but Zidane can't risk revealing to the world this secret recipe due to whatever resentment or bias he has that would have him play for the 0-0 rather than let loose the fireworks.

A meaningless final without Bale, Hazard and Benz - a perfect opportunity to integrate those players who play much less and give them some important minutes.

Obviously winning is better than losing but I have no idea what in the world we are doing playing a non competitive game in Saudia Arabia in the middle of January.

Honestly I think escaping without injuries and suspensions to key players should've been the goal here, and I'm not sure we've done that.

We haven’t sustained any injuries, as for suspensions it is yet to be determined because as @4x4s noted on the match thread De Jong played in the super cup despite getting a red against Espanyol.

Zinedine Zidane, Sergio Ramos and company took it seriously. The great robnycus didn't. It's all in vain.

If it was up to you then we'd get knocked out by Valencia or by Atletico in the final.

-Instead of a morale boost we'd get knocked down
    -11.5M less minimum , exposure
    -A legit title
    -Zidane breaking yet more records

But hey, at least James would have played.

Hey, shut up you little man. James, Lucas, the unsigned Reiner and some Castilla players should have started. Some Juvenile A players too.

A freaking meaningless title, we didn't even deserve to be in it. Glorified friendly somewhere in Iran or something.

James should have taken the final penalty and took his shirt off and proceeded to flex and punched Zidane in the face. Damn the baldy for humiliating the GOAT.

Lol at you folks all getting all pissed off because of random poster on an internet forum thinks this cup was meaningless and thought James should have played, both valid opinions.

We did not even beat Atletico over 120 minutes and only tied because Valverde had to commit a red card foul on Morata..

Wouldn’t surprise me if some of them didn’t want us to lose so they could say that we would have won if Zidane used James, wouldn’t put it past them at this point.

Nah.. read my comments. I was rooting for Mariano to save our bacon.. and I actually thought he would.
I have lost hope for Vini on the other hand.. so I was dissapoInted that he came in instead of James . That is all there is to it..

Why does everything have to be so black and white here? This place is almost like politics where no perspective can be given on either side.

Yes. This was an important win. Yes Zidane is a great coach. Yes we are having a great season. Yes i think we will win the league and CL. Yes i am happy with the season we are having and with zidane.

    But also

Yes James should leave. Yes, yesterday was a good opportunity to give him a chance. Yes zidane doesn't rate him. Yes he will not get a fair opportunity no matter what he does unless the whole squad is injured like at the beginning of the season.

The club needs to side with the coach and not the player. He should be sold and not ruin the guy's career.

Completely agree with your view, it doesn’t have to be black and white, absolutely not, disagree with the idea that ZZ does not rate James, playing time is at a premium right now, especially when the team is doing relatively well, and there’s lots of competition for places,

I for one certainly don’t think the reason James is not playing is because the coach does not like or rate him, he’s been injured, the team is playing well, so not so easy to just get into the starting lineup, many factors, let’s see how it goes for the rest of the season if James remains with us

The team just played a Final that finished 0-0, where the coach started with 2 attacking midfielders, used all 3 subs on strikers and left a World Cup Golden Boot winner on the bench out of spite... and we're just supposed to pretend the man is perfect.

I mean I would get it if we had walked away with a convincing 3-0 victory, but c'mom went through about six players without giving your most proven goal scorer a chance.

Lost hope for a teenager but ready to go to war for a borderline 30 year old that can't find a team. Sounds great.

    No butt hurt

There can be a world where zidane is a good coach for us and at the same time doesnt rate James.

But no. Zidane is a perfect man and flawless man because the great youngstar says so lol. For you, any mention of any criticism of zidane is buthurt, hating And u go on for days bitching

Then have the nerve to say others are negative lol.

U r the definition of the whie and black that i am describing.

There can also be a world where Zidane rates James but had a reason why he didn't play him.

BTW, who said Zidane is perfect? I literally called the man flawed in his own thread but you're so damn butthurt you are blinded by everything when it comes to James.

Stop making things so black and white.

It's ok to say he doesn't rate him. He is a coach and as a coach he is entitled to know what he wants

I think we've seen enough evidence over several seasons that suggests that he doesn't rate James or his characteristics as a player for his plans.

Doesn't make Zidane a bad person or a bad coach.

Zidane has a job to do, a very difficult job at that, he needs to do what he needs to do.

But if James is not part of his plans... (which evidence suggests he isn't) then sell the guy.

I mean, yet again quite pointless discussion. He doesnt rate himand wont play. He is theoretically squad member and thats it. He played those games earlier because a lot of midfielders were injured and Zizou didnt have a choice.
